Who do you think is the most under-rated chracter in the MU?

I think Paladin gets plenty of play, but it's off panel because he's not in a Max tittle.

Heh, trim lots of trim.

I just think he's got great potential more so than most.

Warpath has got to get some votes also. He was great in New Mutants and X-Force, drops off the face of the earth, then shows up in Uncanny and still rocks. To bad they have not done more with him.

I would say that Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Gravity and Cyclops are all under-rated.

Colossus? I think he could be so much more interesting and used in a bigger way.

I'll agree with the Warpath vote. He is pretty awesome from what i've seen.
Also that kid Darwin from uncanny x-men is pretty cool. Too new to be considered underused though.

^Agree with Darwin, well see how is used in the future. Colossus is such a great character that gets no real lines. To bad really.

I think the most underrated character in Marvel is probably Wolverine.
You know Wolverine, or Logan.
Maybe if they had him on the cover of a few magazines or had him guest star in some comics, he could be a huge character.

I really can't think of a character, maybe Dark Hawk. I think thats his name. But he would need some tweaking to work better. I'll get back to you.

Cypher, Prodigy (Nex X-Men), Forge, other heroes who's powers focus mainly on their minds.

Gambit, he knocked out Gladiator and still gets potrayed as a borderline A- character. He's got the history, the innovative ability, and the attitude, all he needs is a good writer.

I'm a Gambit fan too, and I think it sucks that the stigma of being a "90's character" sticks with him, but Bishop, who was created then as well, has long shed that image. It really does come down to good writing.

Very true, just becuase they are not on the front lines of a Civil War or something does not make them bad characters. Cypher was awesome (I liked Warlock also) but Prodigy & Forge should get some hype also.

Wasn't he a character sidekick introduced in the eighties, and was killed off by Windshear?

Yeah, all we need is someone to take the character and make it work outside the box while retaining the core of the character. Hell, have some of his plots run outside the mutant community.

Heres mine from the least un rated to higher un rated...

1. Moon Knight
2. Luke Cage
3. Nova
4. Black Panther
5. Angel

I think Nightcrawler is very underated also. He is such a cool character but it seems like each time he gets an LS its about demons. He is so much better than that. How about give him an adventure or some worth while story once in a while?

If only Black Panther was written in a sense we could all relate to. I don't think that he's underrated, but I belive that he's an African Superheo dealing with issues in a land that is kind of dull to us. What would make him cool would be the adaptation of him struggling to find his way in an American society. If I were writing him, I would make him commit some kind of accidental affront to the people of Wakanda, and have them decided to strip him of his powers. This would. force him to take refuge in America while heroes sought to hunt him down. So he has to deal with that, as well as with the terrible situation of the city, as well as with the arrogance that should be a part of his characters.

they should do SOMETHING to make this character interested again, not just have him marry an X-men just so people will read the book.

What are you talking about, exactly? Panther has dealt with the American society at it's lowest level while a member of the Avengers if you recollect, but in case you don't I'll give you a quick reminder. Waaaaay back when he was a member, Panther spent more time on the city streets with the troubled youth and was even a high school teacher in the inner city. In one issue, he dealt with racism from a bunch of Klan members who'd kidnapped a young girl.

His deeply invested interest in teaching and spending time among the nation's inner city youth became a major obstacle with his membership to the Avengers as well. So Panther's been through every level of the American society; lower-class, middle class, and of course on his more recent visits, upper class i.e. Stark Class.

Hannibal King. I think he could come back in a big way mixing elements of both comic and movie versions. The trench coat look and detective skills of the comic version. The battle gear and fight know-how of the movie version. Tone down the humor to a happy medium(I felt it was a bit much in the movie).

I remember, but not he's in africa and he comes over to help the avengers once in a while. The villains in africa are boring, but back when he was the client, It was on. I still say he needs to be exiled to LA or something. Would be something different.

Well it would be revisiting those older stories which most of today's readers probably don't remember.

Good, then they would feel fresh.

I still don't buy it, that you have to lower a character's status so drastically in order to make it interesting. On second thought, exiling a king worked for Namor and produced some good stories, I suppose it could go either way.

having read annihilation i do think Nova is under rated.

i only ever knew him as new warriors.

but he is alot more...he and quasar.

i want to see marvel legends of them both soon too....

See my typical answer is MoonKnight...But they finally gave him a series and are showing some love!
