Go On: Matthew Perry Returns to NBC

I enjoyed it, his explosion at TO for texting while driving was nicely done

Haven't seen the pilot yet, but I feel bad for Matthew Perry. I think he's very funny with the right script, but after Friends and The Whole Nine Yards (the sequel was terrible) he couldn't find a proper project.
Maybe he's old and some of his comedic chops are just not there anymore.

I couldn't help but notice how much he is starting to look like his dad.

Wow, I really loved tonight's episode, especially the ending. I closed my eyes during the game, but then opened them to realize the screen was black as they wanted you to not see what's going on and just listen. That really spoke to me and felt really special.

Tonight wasnt the first episode. The first episode sets you up for what this show is gonna be, not a straight comedy like "Friends". Its about 40% comedy/60% drama and the drama bits are really well done.

For now, it works better as a drama than as a comedy, I didn't laugh at all in the first two episodes. But Matthew almost crying in the pilot when he finally talks about his wife, and the basketball scene at the end of episode 2 worked a lot.
I can see they mean good with the show, but it needs to improve, I don't want another Matthew Perry show cancelled.

Hey hey hey, at least Perry was on one that lasted 10 years. :o

I can't help but seeing Chandler everytime he attempts something new. I'm like "hey, Chandler works in a radio station now".

Anyone still watching this show? The ratings for last night's episode held up. But I wonder what's gonna happen when New Girl and Raising Hope return next week.

Raising Hope doesn't come back for 2 weeks because of 2 New Girl episodes. :csad:

Still watching Go On, still enjoying the Hell out of Go On.

I'm still watching. It's enjoyable enough, though not quite great comedy yet. Any series needs time to find it's footing, especially in comedy. But there's good stuff here.

Go On is doing much better than the second half of New Girl's first season in demo/total viewers but who knows how much the audience will have grown over the summer.

New Girl had a great debut but quickly shed viewers and the the second half of the season was taking in half what it was for its premiere.

Personally I'd watch New Girl first because its funnier and I enjoy the established characters more than the ones just starting out on Go On.

Still Go On is enjoyable and has its moments.

New Girl was affected when it was taken off the air for a month so FOX could air the MLB Playoffs and World Series. Go On won't have that issue and it has The Voice as its lead-in. The New Normal, I think, is the show that will suffer the most. Last night, Go On kept a good chunk of The Voice audience but The New Normal lost half of it.

Ratings:

The Voice - 4.5
Go On - 3.9
New Normal - 2.2

Ryan being mistaken for Rachel Maddow = :lmao:

Matthew Perry is great but there's a reason why Chandler wasn't the main character on Friends. It's only episode 4 and I'm already getting tired of Ryan. This show has a HUGE cast and they're not taking advantage of it. There should start making episodes where the other characters are the focal point.

Go On did well against New Girl in the ratings. It was watched by 7.3 million viewers while New Girl got 5.3 million. For New Girl, however, this is a big drop from last years premiere where it got 10 million viewers. It has lost half its audience. FOX also came in third, behind CBS and NBC.

I'm starting to really like this show. Perry's doing quality work, I love John Cho's character, and the rest of the supporting cast is gelling together quite well. It's getting funnier every week.

Matthew Perry and Lauren Graham together? More please...

That fine ass Piper Perabo.
