Anyone pick up the new graphic novel today. I'm still trying to decide if I want that and the artbook or not.

I got a copy of Godzilla:Awakening yesterday, and it's pretty good, but definitely not required reading to enjoy the movie. In fact, I'd bet that none of the events that seem unique to the comic (including a somewhat weird new enemy monster) will be referenced in the movie at all. It's about on the same level as the Pacific Rim:Year Zero graphic novel from last year. A mildly entertaining read, but not overwhelmingly great in its presentation or relevance to the plot of the film.
