I will say this, whatever qualms about the film as a whole, there is a shot in the finale that is as good or better than pretty much anything this franchise has ever produced.

I guess it's time for me to leave this thread until after I see the film thursday night, I hope whoever sees it before me enjoys it, I'll be back with my video review and crowd reactions this weekend!

I'm telling you, audiences are going to be annoyed and pissed off about the first tease.

Edwards, Tull, and co. made a huge miscalculation there. HUGE. It's going to be the biggest complaint of the entire film.

Just like the guys making Amazing Spider-Man 2 and no one pointed out how Electro is exactly like Jim Carey's Riddler in Batman Forever.

It's basically this movie's, "That's a lot of fish."

Less is more.

"**** you, I wants ma monstahs!"

Or, ya know, people will be fine with it for the most part. Which is what they are so far.

Have you seen it, and are you fine with it?

No I haven't. I'm not saying it's not a valid criticism...It may play fine for me, it may bug the hell out me, but claiming what you claimed is a tad hyperbolic considering the positive buzz critics and audiences have responded with so far.

I'm making an educated prediction.

Its really a situation of if you're going to have a slow burn, you better commit when the **** hits the fan, don't just cut to aftermath. No one is calling for them to throw in everything, atomic breath and all in the first fight....but there should be a first fight.

What's funny is one of the movie's taglines in recent marketing has been "Let them fight!"

Yest Gareth, please do.

I'm a little confused by this rotten tomatoes blurb.

Stephen Whitty said:
If you really don't ask for anything more than a solid hour or so of giant creatures beating on each other, well then, this new "Godzilla" is for you - just the way all the old ones were.
May 13,

I'm confused because that never happens in the film. Id be surprised if there 20 minutes total of monster fights throughout the entire run time. If what you're looking for a monster fest, this is decidedly not the movie for you. Really odd blurb.

I shall be seeing this in exactly 24 hours. Looking forward to it.

Due to financial matters I may not be able to see this for some time. :(

Normally I'd say download it but it's not really the type of movie you'd want to experience on a small screen for the first time.

I'll be seeing this in a few days. I have not bought my ticket yet as I'd be shocked if my theatre in suburban Canberra sold out.

Same here, except North Miami, FL. (Aventura, actually but close enough)

Plan on arriving there around 6PM and hope it's not sold out (Thur. the 15th)

I have to see this again. A day later alot of shots\scenes are sticking with me. The movie has problems but theres some strong stuff too.

Ok. I don't think anyone answered me earlier.

In the movie, is the military/people shocked when Godzilla unleashes his...

Atomic Breathe? Or is everybody like "Oh ****, it lights up and does that.
