Godzilla '98 sequel?

Yesterday I thought of how they could have taken G98 from "controversial moneymaker" to "instant classic." They should have dumped Matthew Broderick and replaced him with Arnold Schwarzenegger! I pretty much can't think of any of Broderick's scene in the movie that wouldn't have been 10x more awesome if Arnold had been playing his character. Maria Pitillo was absolutely awful in the movie, but Matthew Broderick's character was the one that was supposed to be carrying the story. Broderick has more acting skill than Arnold, sure, but he can't carry an action role to save his grandma. You get Arnold when there are guns and / or monsters involed (which was the case with Godzilla), but Broderick couldn't even lift a gun in the movie!. I would have easily paid $10 just to see Arnold punch a baby Godzilla in the head and then run down a hall firing an M16 while shouting angrily.

If the movie had that, it would have made 700 million and spawned two sequels, easy as pie.

You are ****ing brilliant

They gotta make Cloverfield 2 a Arnold Schwarzenegger-esque 80's action film.

But who could play the Arnold type role...

I wouldn't mind if they made a sequel to Godzilla (1998). I loved the first movie and I would hate to see it go to waste.

In 2004 he made an appearance in Godzilla: Final Wars and most recently in a doritos comercial...but those are no sequels.
I just watched it and I fell in love with it again. I think the movie was kind of like The Hulk, the first time you watch it, for some, it's bad for some but after a few years, you really enjoy it.

What do you guys think?
dude I support you 100%
About everyone on here hates the 98 Godzilla. But I give the movie 10/10.

They need to make another movie. Zilla Owns!

Just lay this movie and this sequel prospect to rest :csad:

seeing this thread made me bring out my old 98 Godzilla avy!

With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the spitting high tension wires down

Helpless people on a subway train
Scream bug-eyed as he looks in on them

He picks up a bus and he throws it back down
As he wades through the buildings toward the center of town

Oh no, they say hes got to go
Go go godzilla, yeah
Oh no, there goes tokyo
Go go godzilla, yeah

Rinji news o moshiagemasu!
Rinji news o moshiagemasu!
Godzilla ga ginza hoomen e mukatte imasu!
Daishkyu hinan ****e kudasai!
Daishkyu hinan ****e kudasai!

Oh no, they say hes got to go
Go go godzilla, yeah
Oh no, there goes tokyo
Go go godzilla, yeah

History shows again and again
How nature points up the folly of men
Godzilla!
I loved when that song was played before those TNT Godzilla Marathons.

Me too. :woot: In fact, to me that was the tipoff that the movie wasn't going to be all it was cracked up to be - when the song was completely absent from the soundtrack. Even though they made Zilla a mama, they could have at least bothered to have an updated cover of it somewhere.

Apparently, they figured the Wallflowers/Sean Combs (as well as that Green Day Zilla mix) songs was sufficient. :o

Nice avvy

Arnold already passed the reins of action star over to the Rock himself.

THANKYOU!! I didnt know If I should ask seeing as you just did one....Ill post it on the official thread..Thanks!!

Back in '98, Arnold would have been in fine action movie condition... He should have been in Godzilla, dangit! :cmad:

Indeed. I still would like to see them do a sequel to the US Godzilla at some point.

good ole Gigan

I liked the one with him and Ghidorah... I forget which one that's called

I think that one was aptly titled "Godzilla vs. Gigan."
