Rewatched Kong: Skull Island and I’ll say it easily has the most impressive VFX of the Monsterverse.

Plus, I really appreciate the decision to make Monsterverse Kong some sort of gorilla-bigfoot “missing link” like the 1933 version rather than a simply oversized silverback like in 2005 (but of course, that version was also cool in itself).

It's my third favorite after Kong '33 and Kong '05. And you're right, it's the closest in spirit/look to the '33 Kong we've ever had.

Slight variation. Transformers was "Their War, Our World" and this is "Their Fight, Our World" but it's still lazy. It also doesn't make much sense in this case because Earth is their world too. Godzilla and Kong didn't come from space.

They think they can re-use lines after a certain amount of time has passed because there were people that weren't even born when they came out. But as a nitpicky nerd let me tell you, we remember it all.

We can only hope the next Kong and Godzilla movie takes place in a small town and the high school quarterback must team with the short order cook and mechanic to solve the situation. They discover a Kong/Godzilla hybrid baby is running loose in the sewers and when they lure it out, they signal Kong who has been staying in the zoo to fight at the hospital. Godzilla hears the call of its offspring and what follows is a fight scene that is badly lit and incomprehensible.

Or just do Kramer vs Kramer.
