Near as I can tell, they don't have much choice, as the deal with Toho ends in 2020. And renegotiating the deal to also use Kong would not be a guarantee either.

I mean, he's not ruled out. I haven't read the KOTM spoilers, so it can basically be anything. Heck, they could introduce MechaGodzilla as a weapon made by this human group who wants to extinguish the Titans.

‘Bosch’ Actor Lance Reddick Cast In ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’

Lance Reddick, who is best known for Amazon’s Bosch series, HBO’s The Wire, and the John Wick films, is the latest to join the extended cast list of Warner Bros./Legendary’s Godzilla vs. Kong.

I hope Gonzalez and Henwick have legit roles in this. Considering how Olsen and Larson were treated in Godzilla and Kong, I doubt it, but I guess we will see.
