Dammit, I love the Shocker. What a truly underused villain, and such a BASTARD. I miss books like this.
Doc Ock said:I love the first Sinister Six story. It's the first time Ock mentally calls his tentacles to him when they're removed from his body. And Aunt May doesn't even realize she's been kidnapped with Betty, because she finds Ock so charming lol![]()
Doc Ock said:I remember that Electro one.Doesn't Peter go to a launderette with a paper bag over his head because he has to wash his only costume?? That issue was the 2nd time Electro appeard in ASM since his 1st appearance back in ASM#9 [not counting the ASM Annual].A pity Stan didn't use him more.
Doc Ock said:Has anyone here read Adam Troy Castro's trilogy of novels about the Sinister Six?? Now they were fantastic.I wish Marvel would adapt them into a comic mini, with Castro writing and Bagley on the art.
Doc Destruction said:You know, as old as that bit is, I would take it in a HEARTBEAT if it meant erasing alot of the bullcrap we've suffered through.
ben_reilly_s_s said:Are these the novels that deal with Peter's "sister?"
If not, which ones are?
I wanted to read those.
MyPokerShirt said:"sister"??? explain![]()

Also, when does the story take place? I know they try to keep the novels in continuity.
I just finished the Venom Factor... It was ok... Certainly not the page turner that Castro's books were.stealth_spider said:I actually have those books. The story was pretty good I thought. I enjoyed it very much. I remember reading a lot of those spidey novels. The Venom Factor, The Lizard Sanction and Goblin's Revenge were also good reads.
I'll ditto that!!!Doc Ock said:Yes those are the ones. They are:
1. Gathering of the Sinister Six
2. Revenge of the Sinister Six
3. Secret of the Sinister Six.
Read them. Read them A.S.A.P. They are awesome reads.
Check out the "Wanted: A good Spidey read" thread. I just bumped it.ragingdemon155 said:I've been meaning to really pick those up. Any other reccomendations as far as Spidey novels are concerned???
Doc Ock said:Hey Captivated, I read Castro's John Doe story in the Untold Tales of Spider-Man book.
And all I can say is.........WOW!! Castro is a magician. He can even make Kraven the Hunter creepy. The whole "The Hunter is coming for me" added a real edge to the story, because you knew he was going to come. He was like the boogeyman or something, and the female Doctor Peter thought looked like Gwen was almost like a mother trying to calm down a child who thinks there's a monster in his closet or something.
My only regret is that the story wasn't longer. I didn't want it to end.

And then there is this arc. This is to Electro what KLH was to Kraven:

KLH showed Kraven as the psychotically determined man that would prove himself superior to Spidey at any cost. The "power up" of Electro meant that he could show the world how powerful he was. When he was defeated by Spidey, he couldnt handle it. Some might consider suicide the sign of a weakling, but Max's attempt was also a way of spitting in his enemies face.
This arc gets bashed a lot, but it is my favorite arc featuring my favorite forgotten character:
