Whoa whoa whoa dude! Don't be dissing Sorbo here! :cmad:

I've never understood the Sorbo love. He's a mediocre actor with a slightly above average build that suited a cheap fantasy TV series. I tried watching Kull once, but it was so bad I turned it off after about 20 minutes.

Though I will say he was kinda funny on The B___ in Apartment 23.

Haven't seen Liam Hemsworth in anything so not sure he has the ability. Miley Cyrus as Teela offends me in ways I can't begin to explain.

You haven't seen Expendables 2 yet? He was pretty good as Billy, even though he dies very early on in the film.

I only mentioned Miley because those two are engaged to be married. Personally, I prefer my earlier pick (Jennifer Lawrence, Katniss from Hunger Games). But sometimes actors insist that their real life lovers play their on-screen love interests.

Agreed! His roles in Hercules, Meet The Spartans, and Kull The Conqueror were kinda silly, but that was by design. The worst he can be accused of is choosing roles in silly projects. That doesn't necessarily take away from his acting skill or natural charisma.

LOL, that episode was on last night just as you sullied his name, hence my violently angry reaction.

I love that he has a sense of humour about himself, that's really what makes me a fan. That, and unlike the Hoff he appears to be a clean-living and stable kind of guy.

Had no real desire to see it, to be honest with you. Didn't like the first one much.

Yeah I heard about them being engaged. It's still a terrifying idea, even in jest.

As for Kevin Sorbo and his past projects, well, dang it, they can't all be lucky enough to have the kind of options that Liam Neeson, Tom Cruise, Will Smith and Christian Bale have. Sometimes they have to make do with whatever comes their way.

Really? I found them both to be great fun. Oh well, to each his own.

Agreed, the idea is terrifying. Again, I wasn't mentioning it as a serious suggestion, just a terrifying possibility.

And once more we're in agreement. Liam Neeson, Tom Cruise, and Christian Bale all got their starts in high dramas, then switched to doing action, comedies, etc. Will Smith went the other way, starting with comedies then going to action and dramas. Point is, by luck of the draw they tend not to get type cast because they've proven themselves to be very versatile. Kevin Sorbo hasn't had that luxury and gets type cast. A pity, because I think he has the potential to be so much more than he has been.

Don't forget Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. He was on that too. That show was pretty good.

Wasn't Jason Lewis being considered to play He-Man a few years ago ?

His name comes up a lot from fans, especially on the he-man fansite. I haven't seen him in anything recently, so by now I'm not sure if he's gotten too old for this role by now.

Not the picture I'd like to post, but I don't want to make most of you uncomfortable. :oldrazz:

Yeah, he had a perfect look for it about 10 years ago, not sure about now though. I also don't know that he would have really been able to pull it off. He was good on Sex & the City (yes, I'm secure enough in my masculinity to admit that I used to watch it) but I don't know if I could buy him as a barbarian king.

His name got tossed around a lot for Captain America awhile back. I thought he definitely had the right look, but then I heard his voice and...yeah, I don't think so.

Somebody mentioned Liam Neeson for Duncan. Well, then they have to do some trick filming. Man-At-Arms should not be that tall of a guy.
15-20 years ago, I think Burt Reynolds would have been PERFECT for the role. Nowadays people suggest Tom Selleck instead, but they share some similarities in the look department. But even Selleck is starting to grow too old for the character now :(

What about Steve Howey ( Van from Reba ) as He-Man ? He gotten pretty buffed lately on " Shameless ". Or Jared Padelecki from " Supernatural ". I think he bulked up because he wanted to auditon for Conan the Barbarian.

He does have a good look.
Stragely, without the buff he looks kinda like Kevin Pereira from "Attack of the Show".

^Intriguing as that is, it kinda misses the point of Adam having a "secret" identity.

True, but he also isn't exactly what I would call "He-Man Big". If you want to find someone who is "He-Man Big" to play He-Man, your gonna have to go looking through the ranks of the Mr. Olympia contestants, or through the WWE & TNA locker rooms. But since everyone seems to "poo-poo" any suggestions of pro bodybuilders or pro wrestlers for the role (as if Lou & Arnold were SO terrible as Hercules & Conan back in the early 80's), then I say "CGI".

Why? It's not like the 80's cartoon where Adam & He-Man look 100% identicle except for their clothes. It's more like the 2002 series, where Adam & He-Man kinda look alike, except for the major size difference.
