Great Vacation Spots - Cheap, IN the US

Something that we can fly to, and for small amounts of cash, enjoy ourselves.
(for me and my wife)

AND NO...not spending four days in a cabin mating like wild rabits...I can do that at home...

Ogunquit and Wells, Maine are fantastic in Sept. and October. My wife and I went there in 2001 and loved it.

I've had a blast in Chicago everytime I've been there. Might be too expensive, though.

Alright. My favorite place on Earth: Cannon Beach, Oregon. Tickets to Portland from just about anywhere are usually relatively inexpensive. Rent a car and drive over to Cannon Beach. There are plenty of decent places to stay, some swankier than others. The Hallmark Inn has the best combination of anemities, location and price. It's RIGHT ON THE BEACH.

yup. pretty much the entire coast of maine is really nice to visit this time of year. great, cheap seafood too.

We spent a day and just drove up the coast and saw lighthouses and spent some time in Portland. Seafood is definitely cheap. Huge Lobster and Crab was $10, whereas in my area the cheapest is $25 for a small lobster tail. We will definitely be going back there.

yup. i grew up in maine. i'm going back next week to visit my folks. can't wait for the lobster and seafood feed they have planned for me!
