The "Nolan films" are a different movie series as the "Burton/Schumacher films" (which, arguably, are different 2 movie series between them) but all of them are part of the same franchise. A franchise comprises any manifestation of a certain (in this case) character that has been licensed by the owner of said character (DC, WB) to make movies, cartoons, toys... Thus in a larger sense, BTAS and the old Adam West show are also part of the Batman franchise. If we're strictly talking live action movies, I'd count B66, B89, BR, BF, B&R, BB and TDK as the "Batman movie franchise".The Batman Franchise was at an ok after Forever (even though that too sucked ass), but it died after Clooney and this is a whole new one now so we can't count it.
