The whole series will be them just shenanigan'ing the **** out of the fanbase. He'll grow facial hair over the course of a few episodes, and then as soon as it starts to come in really good and thick, he'll shave and the fans will cry themselves to sleep every night until the facial hair starts coming back in.

I can already see the product placement in this show for razors and shaving cream!

Im Oliver Queen and when I shave I use a Gillete The Best a man get.

In one episode his love interest will tell him to seperate the two personalties and she will say grow a beard or something.
(This all comes from a good heart im hoping the show is good.)

I think the facial hair is going to be become the Superman suit to this show like it was to Smallville. We will all be wanting him to sport a beard but not till the last season will we get it.:awesome:

I guess that would bother them if they're the kind of fans who are misguided into thinking Ollie/GA is defined by his Van Dyke

Of course Ollie isn't defined by his van dyke. He's defined by his domino mask!

*runs away crying*

well at least ollie will be full hero/double life deal.

Since it has nothing to do with Smallville or the people that ran the show, there just might be chance for this. Smallvile seemed like it was made by people who were embarrassed to be making a show based on a comic book character.

I would say that about the show original producers/creators. They where focus on the angst stuff to much and have said befor certain things like clark in glasses wasn't for them to worry about. But the producers from season 8-10 did care more about characters and the mythos and dc world more.

Then another thing you have to look at. Said producers didn't have full control over everything. Like they wanted to do this or that. But due to budget/issues with dc/wb or the network couldn't do this or that.

He IS going to have facial hair.

That's obviously why they're using a mask that covers the lower portion of his face as Green Arrow.

Merlyn- You wore a beard?

Oliver- Green Arrow wears a beard. Oliver Queen is still clean shaven.

Ten Seasons later

Oliver- I've accepted my destiny!

Two weeks later and unshaven

Oliver- I am something like the green arrow but due to character rights and this tv shows format I can't call myself green arrow.

They'll bring in Mr. Terrific who will undergo a crisis of faith after he attempts to murder the Joker and then in the series finale he will regain his confidence and will be seen in all his superhero glory defeating a horde of Qwardian Thunderers with a wink and a flash of his pretty smile.

This will all lead to a grand climax where Ollie finally learns to string a bow and as he throws a quiver over his shoulder and plucks an arrow it will smashcut to the credits with a special note saying thanks for watching.

I know the role has been cast, but I just have to post a pic I found at the web. Some guy seems to have wanted another actor for GA.

Guess I am not the only fan of him..

Actually, now I think about it, I'm fine with shades or a hood and lower face mask instead of a domino mask, or for him to be clean shaven/bearded - so long as he isn't using a damn compound bow, or packing a couple of mini bloody crossbows!

I don't see why they won't call him green arrow. They may for a few episodes not call him it. But I ccant see them not calling him green arrow fully.

They might have a hard time if the uniform is so dark its almost black, like the description

It doesn't matter if Green Arrow wears black armor.... as long as he still fires green arrows he can be called Green Arrow.

Well we got to remember the description we got is just for the pilot. Which could just be an early costume/prototype suit he has. To he comes down with the suit he will wear. That is very possible thing to happen. Plus who knows what will change from pilot to series if it makes series order.

I like the costume changes. It already sounds 10x more practical and logical than the comics version.

- Armor. Just like Nolan's Batman, it makes sense for GA to have bulletproof protection.

- Black suit. It makes more sense for GA to be stealth in a dark suit than in bright green like a walking target.

- Lower face mask. This covers Oliver's trademark beard while also working as a voice changer for GA.

I can't really complain about the costume, it sounds like an intelligent design.

Keep in mind however, that the costume update for the Phantom was technically an intelligent design for the modern era - and that was truly awful. I'm not saying this one WILL suck, but we accepted GA's outfit in Smallville because the series was only hanging by the fingernails to realism, whereas Nolan's Batman is gripping realism tighter than a fat kid on his last rolo. Just saying, a modicum of disbelief is more acceptable on TV than in films, otherwise you risk ending up with a police procedural drama with a bow.

Well for me I see nothing wrong with like for example howe sv suit was. You can always say the chest part was a slight weight kevlar armor material. Then you got all his weapons, and the hood, mask/goggles what ever they choose to do there. And all that. But what I was just trying to point out. For pilot he may as I said have a early suit like how bruce did in bb or peter in spiderman did. Then by end of pilot or a few episodes in he makes the suit. We just don't know.

I hate the idea of making the costume black and I hope they don't go with it.

I'd rather he was wearing bright green. I know they're aiming for realism, but I always imagined a live action Green Arrow would look like some sort of urban tactical Robin Hood.

On his facebook a few days ago Amell posted a fan made "Arrow" poster someone made and called it "wonderfully awesome".

He also posted this Saturday:
