Well its probably due to the bar setting and who ever took photo had flash on. Light effects the looks of folks. But as we see here cassidy will be brunette, and for at least the pilot amell will have full goatee going.

Van Dyke

Except it's not, this time around. Because no one has worn facial hair like that since the dark ages.

sigh..I can't do it. I can't watch this series. The animation bugs me way too much :/

Uhhhhh.......

Well I don't think van dyke would be suited to modern time. Where as a full goatee/half goatee seems more modern way to handle the look.

Ya either meant to post in gl thread and mixed it with arrow. Or maybe usm.

What on Earth is a half goatee? A goatee that only covers the right or left side of your chin?

Also, you see plenty of people walking around with van dykes today. I think you're more likely to see someone rocking a van dyke than someone who only has a goatee or mustache alone.

This is what I mean of half goatee:

Amd where have you seen folks with van dyke style. For me, I only seen today anywhere, folks with full beard, goatees, mustafes, or clean shaven.

That's a goatee.

Are you confusing a goatee with a van dyke? A goatee is just a chin beard. A van dyke is a chin beard and a mustache, whether they're attached or not attached. It's not just a goatee with a twirled up mustache like Anthony van Dyck wore his. The facial hair styles worn by Evil Mirror Universe Spock or Johnny Depp are also considered van dykes.

If they do keep the facial hair, it would make sense if the cover the lower half of his face like the rumours in the script suggest.

I hope they get someone awesome to score this. The names Jablonsky or McCreary are coming to mind.

well we will probably see soon what they plan to do post pilot facial hair for amell. I do hope he will keep a goatee probably more trimmed up deal and not so bushy as we see he has right now.

This.

Also sorry about goatee styles i thought just a lower one had a different name then a full mustafe and lower area. But ya something like evil spock would be ideal look for amell to have for series.

And we got another actor for the pilot:

Salmon cast in CW's 'Arrow' pilot
Berlanti, WBTV behind comicbook adaptation
By Stuart Levine

British thesp Colin Salmon has joined CW pilot "Arrow."
"Arrow," which is based on the DC Comics book "Green Arrow," is being produced by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Prods.

Premise involves former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, who after being marooned for five years on a deserted island, returns with a mysterious agenda and lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime.
Stephen Amell was previously cast for the lead role of Oliver Queen. Greg Berlanti is writing and exec producing with Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. David Nutter is directing the pilot and also receives exec producer credit.

Salmon will play Walter Steele, a former business associate of the late Robert Queen and the No. 2 executive at Queen Consolidated. He married Moira Queen following her husband's death at sea and the disappearance of her son, Oliver.

On the bigscreen, Salmon recently wrapped "Resident Evil: Retribution," reprising his role from the first film
Salmon is repped by Steven Siebert at Lighthouse Entertainment and Curtis Brown Group.

Brosnan-era, but still... :o

You know, the premise for this, including the family changes from the pre 52 comics actually sound way better than the current comic direction. A mysterious agenda and publicly opposing attitudes us what they should have done in the DCNu52

Well this weekend should be interesting to see if we get any info leaked out. With filming set to start saturday.

I have a strange feeling that this pilot will be one of the ones that never sees the light of day

I hope not with david nutter on it, and his track record of pilots going to series. Plus it being the CW, i think it will go to series. How long it lasts will be the question.
