As long as he can see. I found it amusing/annoying whenver Hartley took them off because it was obvious that it'd be difficult to see for him. It was like he'd take them off any chance he could get.

Wasn't there mention of a mask that covered the lower half of his face? We could be looking at his eyes, brow and forehead being the only parts of his face we can see, rather than the comic version of the other way round

Yeah. The mask covers the lower part of his face, it's also a voice changer apparently and covers his facial hair.

It will probably appear in other pictures.

The costume itself looks great. Very dark and gritty. Very Medieval-esque.

Cool. I'm surprised they didn't give him a composite bow, by the way.

And there won't be Black Canary. Just Dinah Lance, single female attorney.

Not at the beginning of the series, but if this lasts more than a season she better turn into Black Canary.

Laurel Lance.

I think the name change has something to do with them altering the character from DC. She can't be a metahuman in this version if they're going for realism.

Which is just wrong. I already ahve Nolans batman for reality, I dont need GA for it aswell.

Yes they do.

I'd rather this series be like Nolan's Batman.... than the complete opposite (Smallville).

It doesnt have to be like smallville, it could be like Heroes if they have metas.

Okay, which of you lying liars said he was gonna wear a mask that covered his whole face? Because I'm ever so happy that you're wrong.

Also, I'm loving the longbow. I was afraid they were gonna give him some sort of crappy compound bow.

--EDIT--
Or that might be a composite bow. Either way, I'm glad it's not a compound bow.

In fairness to Smallville, the first few years were grounded. It was the later years that knda left that in the wayside.

I'm imagining this show could have a tone similar to Supernatural.

The first few years weren't grounded at all.

Even Season One had ridiculous freak of the weeks, and incredibly flimsy Silver Age explanations to justify them.

Kryptonite was pretty much the all-purpose miracle substance.

It was Craig from Kryptonsite who said that.

It's probably true.

Oliver is just unmasked in the above photo. Everything else reported earlier about the costume checks out.

Grounded does not mean realistic. Grounded means you explain the unexplainable, Nolan's Batman films are not realistic, they are grounded.

Kryptonite is an alien substance that affects superpowers. So why couldn't it affect superpowers in people?

(I can't believe I'm defending Smallville :()

Because all of the uses and effects of Kryptonite were inconsistent.

The writers just used it as a Deus Ex Machina.

It was the opposite of grounded. There was no consistent logic present. It played out like a Silver Age comic.

Quite a lot of the powers gained from Kryptonite were linked to Clark's powers. Wasn't there also the rule that powers inherited from Kryptonite don't affect Superman?

Simply put, I couldn't have asked for a better take on the suit. I'm looking forward to more shots of it but so far it looks great. Very Robin Hood like...My thrill meter for this show just went up a notch.

Back on topic, the costume designer behind the GA costume here has worked on a ****load of Tim Burton films and recently on Snow White and the Huntsman..... I like that.

They aren't playing around w this pilot are they with all these top notch people

Thats why I'm hoping we get someone really great to do the score.

Looks like the Smallville one, with some changes.

No sun glasses, please!

Actually it kind of looks like the New 52 GA costume:

It's just missing the belt and the arm bracers (as well as the holster for beer).

Uh.... doesn't really look like that at all, actually.

I'm in love with the fact that the suit HAS sleeves!

It looks much better and more badass than the old school sleeveless look.

Its good to see WB invested some money and got a costume designer to do it.

They learned from the wonder woman mistake just releasing her with a white background.

Here they actually put some time into it.

Hopefully any other costumes on the show, especially the villains, are well made. For me personally, when smallville started with all the costumed heroes I would cringe because they were very poor.

I do like how he has sleeves, as I always thought the sleeveless look was problematic.

Maybe they'll actually produce something great for once, dc really needs it.

Hell Yeah GA looks awesome! He would be even more awesome if he had face paint over his eyes instead of a mask or goggles.
