I think Flash works best in an ensemble.

Flash has a lot more going for him, as a character, than Hal Jordan.

He's got the whole family man and police forensic scientist angle... that's before you even figure in his powers.

I will never understand the obsession with Flash. He is such a ridiculous character that it would be guaranteed box office poison. Same goes with Aquaman. Green Lantern at least has a sizeable fanbase and an interesting universe/powers.

I feel the same way. I also feel that way about GL, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman. But if they went by what I think then they just wouldn't compete with Marvel at all and that's no fun so.....

How much did they expect this movie to make? 800mil wordwide?

when a movie clicks with the general public it can make over 200 dmoestic. i know that this is a low number for SHH fans. but over 200 domestic in US is a big number. ok with 3D its easier but still hard. Thor is not even close to 200 right now.

even if the movie is not good (need to see it for myself to see if its good or bad ) lets hope it makes enough money.

Funny you should mention that because the production for Green Lantern often reminded me of the Aquaman storyline in Entourage. It felt unreal, like were being punked or something.

um, and what exactly makes you think that these studios would bring the finer workings of the comic books to the screen?
Outside of spiderman2(minus the smarts) they just never nail the full characterization. Looking @ batman.

Flash doesn't have a fan base because he can run fast, the writers have had to do amazing things to make him stand out in the comic book world. I'd bet my brothers life(sorry pal) that if a movies made it would be a simplified mess.
So please don't try to sell us the idea by telling how specifically awesome Wally West is and what he can really do.

As far as any studio's concerned I've seen the flashes powers on TV. But they'll think they have something why they introduce time travel.
Berlanti's so clever.

I remember the day I read that Kyle Rayner held a super nova in his hand by sheer force of will and that batman is maybe the greatest analytical mind and fighter in comics.

And umm... what are you talking about? I was just stating that Flash's powers are more varied than just super speed. He can punch harder than Superman, he can vibrate molecules until they explode. He can do all sorts of things.

Plus Flash, the character, is just a more compelling human being than the likes of Hal Jordan. You've got the family man aspect and forensic scientist thing, for example.

even if this movie doesnt make a lot of money, if the word of mouth is good then there is a chance that WB will make a sequel.

the question is if after you watched the movie do you think that the general public will go crazy over GL? i think there is a chance that they will like it.

It needs to make 400M and have good DVD sales to get a sequel. If it does get a sequel, their will be major major changes still.

It's a decent midnight number but it doesn't mean that friday is going to be amazing or bad yet. We should be getting some decent estimates of it's friday number very early saturday morning.
