After watching MoS for the third time i began to think about how you could put Green Lantern into the DCCU. Chacter wise is hard because they are not the most rich characters personality-wise (at least from what i've read) and you have to find ways to include this variety of aliens into a universe that just met THE Alien, Superman.

The best thing i get from reading Green Lantern is the epicness of the story and the action. Lots of superb action and just a larger than life feel.
They are pretty human but not relatable, MoS cold or not had me really feeling it when Sups was punching Zod or when he screamed after killing him. Can u get that out of a GL movie ? if yes how ?

What are your thoughts on the matter. Which stories would you use.

This is not a casting/director choice thread. It is purely for the story and character elements of the GL reboot.

Merci.

What are your ideas ? which storyline/s would u use ?

Do an Incredible Hulk type reboot in that you don't really cover the origin only in opening credits. Have the suits they wear be proper suits that all corps wear, and maybe the symbol on the chest lights up once you wear the ring. Have the corps be more like space corps with an academy etc and have the film about Hal Jordan training a rookie or two and have them face the Manhunters. I think you could achieve a film like that on a smaller budget than the first one.

Also cast Jensen Ackles as Hal Jordan.

I'd say that they'd hope the film would do reasonably well like 400-500 million and hopefully the rest could catch it on DVD etc. Most importantly make it good and people will see it, then you can do a bigger sequel maybe even after Justice League, that in itself could potentially get more people into the character. But yeah I say make a smaller budget reboot, yes I'm thinking Dredd but obviously with a bigger budget than that and go from there.

i think that, depending on when they make the film, that they should do the origin. I mean if it comes out 2018-2020, yeah I say do it again.

Origin in the credits like the Hulk. If a new origin, I'd way prefer john Stewart. Actually I'd rather see John take over anyway with a animated Justice league type personality and background.

Although with Jensen Ackles as Hal Jordan. I would be fine with Hal.

I agree with most of the other comments; Origin sequence through the credits...TIH reboot-esque would work. I have come to really like all the GL's, but I don't see them using anyone but Hal until they have him established. Should be really interesting to see what they do with GL in future projects. I could see him making a cameo in MOS 2 or maybe The Flash if it happens.

They could do a scene where when Abin dies the ring flies around Clark, but then heads to to Hal instead. Would actually be pretty cool. Seen this idea mentioned before.

I'd also love to see War of The Green Lanterns on the big screen someday.

I think he's already in the DCU. No point in outright redoing the origin, as there was little wrong with it. I'd be okay with a credit origin sequence.

Jump into the middle of things, utilize Sinestro, and the larger Corps. And it turns of the DCU, GL's obvious impact would be related to his extraterrestrial expertise.

all you need is a loose reboot. the first film doesn't and should have anything to do with the DCCU, but if anyone's interested in a GL origin, it's there. just move on. i imagine that he's in that MoS universe since "Carrie Farris" is in it.

Ackles as Hal would actually be really interesting.

What would you title it though? The Emerald Guardian?

If you do Hal Jordan again then you need to do the origin again, his origin is too good to just skip

I don't think it's particularly important. You could cover it with a few lines of dialogue or in the opening credits.

Green Lantern: Secret Origin was a great story for the character, it would be a giant waste in my opinion to just cover it with a few lines of dialogue

They can't take elements from that story and apply it to another one?

Do a GL movie with all 5 human lanterns. What's unique about GL compared to other superheroes is that it's fundamentally about police-force/team-up. Why take away that unique elements by just doing origin stories for each Lantern (or even just one Lantern?).

At the very least do a "buddy-cop" movie (no not like Shane Black's IM3 at all) with Hal & John. Show them training and doing patrols together, show their interaction, how they work together, and show how they interact will all those non-human GLs.

That's how you get the Star Wars/space opera feel, by making the story about people interacting with a complicated universe.

With Hal Jordan you can do a buddy cop, that's actually one of the elements i want them to use more in the next film and why i like Secret Origin so much, that and Hal Jordan's story

"Emerald Guardian" ? You must have saw that picture too! :D

I would just call it:

-The Green Lantern Corps
-Green Lantern (Subtitle)

Simple.

yeah, i was gonna mention something like this; after the events of JL, john, guy and kyle get theirs. then off shoot them as if they're the dccu's x-men.

Even though I'd personally rather Michael Jai White as Stewart, in the secondary role behind Kyle Rayner, in an Emerald Twilight/Dawn movie; Idris Elba needs a franchise starring role so freaken' bad, I would be overjoyed.

I would just like to say that manip of Idris Elba is amazing. Would love to see him as John Stewart if they decide to use him instead of Hal.

Just can't see them using Guy or Kyle to start off with, I think they should be saved for the GL trilogy. I don't even know if they would use Kyle. (Although I don't know what his current new 52 origin is.)

:This Time He's Black

I can already see the trailer.

*Batman has gone rogue, and become a Red Lantern*

"Hey Wayne, do you play roulette?"

"On occassion"

"Well let me give a word of advice...."

*Epic snap zoom*

"always bet on black"
