The scene with young Angel was very powerful imo and set up the emotional aspect of this movie nicely.

But did you have the same experience with the first 2 movies ie. following the movie's production online? I didn't for the first 2 movies and feel it affected my enjoyment of the movie to a certain extent, as it did with ROTS.
I think I need to and also really want to see the movie again to allow it fully sink in!

Is it weird that I want to glue wings onto my back now? :p

I want glue on my back PRONTO!

Ah, I love the feeling of the cold on my skin...

I should create or get a pair of wings similar to Ben's in X3. I'll see if I can make myself fly...

Not kidding. :p

Don't kill the birds! Think of the baby eggs!

I didn't follow Angel too much in the comics, but I hope Angel Fans join me in saying, how disappointed I am with Angel. In the beg, it set things up nicely for him, but once he flew away shirtless, there was nothing else for him. When Ben first came on the screen, i said to myself, "not my first choice as angel but i think they picked a good guy." It was a shame he didn't have a chance to shine. Though I think he suffered because of the amount of characters the film had, a lot of them unneccessary but still.

no ones talking about angel, it must because he was barely shown in the film.

I'm not that disappointed. He's not really an X-Man in this film. This is an introduction to his character and he is simply a mutant facing up to his mutation and encountering the cure dilemma. At least Angel can still join the team in future.

I also wish that Angel was fleshed out a bit more fully in the movie, but it was pretty much impossible given the limitations of the plotline and the time. In X3 he's more of a confused teenager rather than a true pro-mutant fighter. We see his growth from a child ashamed of his mutation (his father probably hid him away from the world as well) to accepting it and finally using it to do good. At the end of the film we can surmise that he and his father have had a heart-to-heart, since he's flying free in the Bay Area skies. :)

But yeah, that's some supersonic flying power he has in the movie. First he escapes from SF and flies to NY (where Xavier's school is) and then he flies back to SF (rivalling X-Jet speeds) when he learns his father might be in danger.

I loved the fact that Angel was in this movie though. Some of the more emotionally charged scenes involved him - as a child cutting off his wings (the theater sound really emphasized the "sawing" noise ick), to regular humans awed by the real-life angel. The faces of Kavita Rao and Leech as they first beheld him say a lot about what they think of the cure now...

Angel was anything but great.

But when the wings spread open was that CG?

Maybe Archangel can be the right hand man of the villain in X-4 and get lots of screen time.

I liked how Angel was not the confident rich kid from the comics, he was like rouge and cyclops, who had to cover up their powers, rouge with her clothes and always wearing gloves to cyclops behind the shades. in the comics, he's more arrogant and def. more sure of himself, so i think this change in character was a good choice. hopefully we will see him progress as the confident angel in the comics

X3 seems to be an introduction of Angel in X4. Believe it some people in my theater didn't recognize Angel in that suicide scene except for the young kid whose whisper to his dad that it was Angel was a bit audible in a so silent crowd. And I heard some guys also wondering what power Angel has in that scene in the academy where Angel was listening to Wolvie and the others talking.

His every scene was done in a way where it braced you to a possible climactic revelation of his character. Unfortunately though it wasn't delivered in the end. But ,well, Angel earned a few new fans from my friends :) And yeah before I forgot, he got some applause too from my theatre. One was that first flying scene. second was when he saved his dad. And some misled people clapped their hands when he was seen listening to Wolvie. These people were probably thinking he's going to join the xmen :(

i thought the movie did a horrible job of him, but they left enough potential in him for me to become a fan of his, and i owe it all to the great performance of ben foster. foster, marsden and steward i believe were the best cast people.. ofcourse theres also famke and hugh

I thought the opening scene alone was worth having Angel in the movie...that was a great scene that re-established to the audience the anguish of a kid discovering himself to be a mutant. The character didn't really do anything else the rest of the film besides come to grips with his mutation and fly away, but regardless, I think he served an important purpose. Ben Foster was a good choice for the character.

I like that Leech seeing Angel flying scene too. In Leech's face you'd see his regret of ever being instrumental in the attempt of curing such a beautiful creature.

Actually the way I see it, Angel is a parallel to Phoenix, signifying the dilemma ensues from the cure. Evolution is a double-edged sword: one side is beautiful, Angel; the other side is dangerous, Phoenix.
