"Guardian Archangel:" The Official Character Discussion Thread

Young Angel and Cyclops in his bedroom were the scenes that got to me the most.

I actually really liked Rogue and Wolverine's hallway scene especially when she asks him why he's not telling her to unpack and when the music starts and then when he says "goodbye Rogue" and she says "Marie" - it was a sad scene but I think the casual viewers wanted Rogue to be happy and it was quite emotional seeing her hold Iceman's hand at the end of the movie.

It was an alright scene. I would have liked it better if it were a bit longer.

Rogue's arc seemed kind of rushed in this movie.

See her emotional arc was already well established in the past 2 films though. I would have actually liked to see her take the cure though.

Agreed. It would have been nice to see her feelings before taking the cure.

If Angel gets transformed into Archangel onscreen someday, I think this is a great combo for how he should look:

The white eyes...

The blue skin...

And the wings...

I doubt we will get the blue skin on Archangel. Far too many already established blue mutants.

There's also a bunch of telepaths, mutants with claws, and mutants with flight ability... but they just keep on coming.

Besides, I'd be disappointed if they didn't do the blue skin.

But the XML2 look isn't too bad, if they went with something similar.

I just want to say that he was hott in X-Men 3. After I watched this movie, I went and seen it again to see Angel. :xmen:

I just want to say too that that's probably just one of the very good reasons why I went to see it again.

True, sadly he didn't appear in too many scenes. But the scenes he did have, had impact. He's the reason for his dad producing the cure, his arrival to the mansion changes Storm and Beast's minds about closing the school, he saves his dad, and his flight in the park serves as a symbol for the newfound liberty that mutants are starting to grasp, by the end of the movie.

Looks like Warlock from New Xmen. Or that one thing, the shape-shifting bird guy thing.

Uh . . . didn't Beak and the other Angel have a kid? Maybe that's him? Otherwise, I don't know.

The other Angel is a girl with insect wings. Her name is Angel like a persons name not like Warrens codename.

I know, but she and Beak had a son together . . . he can be seen in the "Here Comes Tomorrow" arc. He flies around with a baseball bat . . . apparently the son's name is Tito Bohusk, although I don't remember him looking quite like that . . . but that's the only thing I can think of.

Was Angel wearing an x-suit when they were rebuilding the GG bridge at the end?

^ I don't think so. well im seeing it again today so i will look.

- Are you dissapointed with how the marketing of this movie made it seem very different from what we got on screen. From the trailers, there were many hints that Sentinels could be a very large part of the movie, your Q&A was the only thing that made me think otherwise. Why did you choose to make the presidetial advisor Bolivar Trask if Sentinels were not going to be worked into the plot? Having his character in the movie lead many fans to believe Sentinels would be a villain in the film. Also I feel the marketing very much exaggerated how much of a role certain characters had in this film. Colossus had barely more screentime than in X2, he was essentially just there to throw wolverine a couple times and carry a TV. Rogue was absent for most of the film, Angel's scenes were almost entirely shown in the trailer (and the promo shots of him in a x-suit were VERY misleading). Many fans were expecting a very different film than what we got.

* I don't think any of this is accurate. All the hardcore fans want their favorite characters to have more screen time. In X2, Rogue saps one power and then flies the plane. Other than that, what? When I see X3 ads, I see Logan and Storm plastered all over the place. And at one point, Angel WAS in a X-suit. I think many people built up expectations, read every spoiler they could get their hands on, and that isn't the way to see a movie. One thing I've learned from this process is that trying to put big surprises in a summer movie is close to pointless. If the marketing doesn't reveal it, the internet will.

So he definitely was in an X-suit at one point...

- How exactly did Angel fly at the same speed as the blackbird, a supersonic jet, to get to San Francisco so quickly?

* He had to have stowed away on the plane, otherwise it isn't possible.

- Why did Angel suddenly show up at the mansion not do anything there and just fly in to rescue his dad out of nowhere?

* Well, that is a pretty slanted view of what happened. He showed up because he had no place else to go. The reasons for not having him in the final fight had more to do with logistics and the sheer number of characters we had to deal with. Keep in mind, we see Angel as having been "set up" in this movie. When Simon and I were writing, no one was calling it "The Last Stand" or saying this was the final movie.

I'm not asking for much, just a quick cut scene of Angel flying down and picking up, and tossing a few enemies. :( Was it that hard? :( :( :down

*cries*

So he was in an x-suit!? wow, FOX sucks....:(
