Guardians of the Galaxy Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: General Discussion & Speculation Thread

Yep mine too.
That's what I love about the MCU. They are made by people who think like us.

Ever since Ragnarok and Infinity War, we were all saying how awesome it would be for Thor to team up with the Guardians, or to just have his story continue at all. Clearly Feige and the Russos were thinking along the same lines and that's pretty cool.

I mean it's such a no-brainer. They wouldn't be smart if they wasted those opportunities.
Marvel clearly has the hand on the pulse of what the general audience and fans want.

I wonder what they do with Gamora. Her dynamic will have to be totally different now, as she's essentially a new character. Honestly I wish they would have brought her back or kept her dead. I don't like this time travel half-version of characters. Maybe Gunn will try to get the original version of her through the Soul Stone?

I guess she could end up getting captured by the Sovereign having no clue why. Then the GOTG and Thor will probably have to rescue her by facing Adam Warlock in the process. I think they might approach this with Star Lord having to win her love back. And the GOTG welcoming her into the family again. I highly doubt they will even touch on the old Gamora.

Until it's confirmed otherwise, I think there is still a possibility that 2014 Gamora was snapped, and Quill is looking for original Gamora at the end. We might get her back with Adam Warlock's ties to the soul stone. Unlikely? Yes. But I don't like the idea of her running away, having a Gamora with little character development, and Quill trying to win her back the whole movie in GOTG3

Is Thor really gonna be in Vol 3? Wasn't the script already written? Did Gunn know he was going to get Thor after Endgame? Is he going to rewrite the script? Are these too many questions?

in the Credits Gunn was Mentioned as Producer so yeah he know what happened also he already worked on GOTG Vol 3 before Endgame begun Filming

Yeh I think so, otherwise they wouldn’t have had that last scene with him and the GOTG. I guess there likely was a bare bones version of the script already done. I’m sure Gunn got the heads up in advance if the plan was to bring him back all along. I’m sure the inclusion of Thor will lead to some adjustments on the script.

Also I feel that bringing in Thor at this point is a smart move. GOTG2 was a step down from the first movie and after that controversy regarding Gunn Marvel needed to drown out some of that noise and the inclusion of Thor did just that. The overall response from people regarding Thor’s inclusion with the GOTG is very positive and that’s a great start.

Remember that Gunn was involved in the production of both IW and EG, so he knew THAT was coming, or he probably decided it together with Russos lol

People called me crazy for saying this may be a 2021 film. Well...who is laughing now :o
2020: Widow and Eternals
2021: Black Panther 2, Guardians 3, Strange and Shang-Chi?
Sounds about right to me...

I would say 2021 - Doctor Strange 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Shang-Chi since recent news indicates the good Doctor's sequel seems far along. That is unless Marvel adds a 3rd movie for 2020 or something. Then add DS2 to 2020 and BP2 to 2021.

Guardians needs a hell of post production work. I remember he cast of Vol. 2 being announced 2 years prior release - 2022 is a safe bet imho

Most of the cast is already in place, though. So that's not really an issue.

Reports are Shang-Chi will begin filming after Eternals is wrapped, so I'm guessing that will be a '21 film

When can we open up a thread for the "dude"?
