The way DnA describe them in their interview, don't they make the Guardians sound kind of like the Nova Corps? "They're basically peacekeepers." Nova should deputize them.

Holy ****, I just remembered that Quasar (the real one, Wendell) was Starhawk's dad, and Starhawk's mom was Kismet, the female counterpart to Adam Warlock. I wonder if the fact that "relatives" of both his parents are on the team will factor into the book at all. DnA claim they're big GotG fans, so they probably know of the connection.

The son of Quasar and Kismet who seemed to know everything because, as it turned out, he was stuck reliving his own life over and over in some weird loop.

I think at some point he merged with his wife into one being or something, too.

If it is the Starhawk from GoG I wonder how much history they are going to use?

In the last issue he and his mother, Kismet, fight Eon's bad offspring, Era - where it is revealed that he is behind various sorts of evil things (including Wendell's death). Also it is revealed that Era has been meddling with the balance of the mutiverse and it may have something to do with the War of the Cosmic Beings foretold by the Living Tribunal.

Finally, Kismet and Starhawk promise to hunt down Era in whatever reality he may be hiding. "We'll do it for Wendell."

This could lead to Starhawk coming to this time, looking for Era? I'm not sure if they will touch on this subject matter. Would be interesting if somehow they had Era being involved with Annihilus/causing Wendell's death.

Hey, a question for those more versed in GotG/New Warriors history than I: Does Justice know that he eventually leads the Guardians of the Galaxy as Major Victory in another reality? Do the rest of the New Warriors (like, say, Nova) know?

That's the whole reason he developed his telekinetic powers. Major Victory arrived in the present to discourage Justice from a career as an astronaut, which, y'know, worked.

Yeah I read both Quasar and Guardians sporatically back in the day and never heard of any connection between the two. But then, it was early in both runs. I know in the old Deluxe Edition handbooks there was definitely no mention of their relationship whatsoever...

I'm surprised by this connection too. I own all of the Quasar and GoG books and I don't remember either of them ever mentioning it. I'll admit that I don't remember everything in the comics I read, but considering how much of a Quasar junkie I am, I thought I would remember this.

Can anyone confirm an issue where it's stated?

Starhawk looks bad-ass.

Unfortunately, all I know of the original GOTG was what I have read in trading cards and Handbooks. Hopefully the Annihilation castoffs will be enough focus that I am not lost. But I am definitely nabbing this and giving it the ol' try. Marvel's space books have been great. And this is coming from a guy who never bothered with any before ANNIHILATION.

Looks good to me. I like that it's a little busy. It gives Starhawk more of that gritty, practical look that works so well for the rest of the new Guardians.

I just looked at that cover and don't remember it. Maybe I don't have all the issues of GoG.

Guess I'm going to do some checking in the old archives tonight.
