yeah but dude was in a movie. You'd think Marvel will play off of this and give him a ongoing since they finally have reignited their cosmic comics. He's probably Marvel's most famous cosmic at this point, and definetly their first.

The problem is there are very few people who can write a compelling silver surfer story, let alone an ongoing series. A few years back Silver Surfer had his own series, I think it was part of the Tsunami line, if not then it was right around that time. Anyway it never really took off.

Yeah, look at the last mini-series. I got the first issue of In Thy Name and then dropped it.

Although the Silver Surfer series spectre mentions probably failed more due to the fact that it absolutely sucked and wasn't really a Silver Surfer story in the first place than for lack of interest. If I recall correctly, it featured such great ideas as the Silver Surfer apparently abducting human children and the changing of the Surfer's face to look more like a "Gray," one of the aliens that supposedly crashed in Roswell.

Oh yeah, the most memorable thing about that series was the artist Milx going crazy and leaving comics forever.

Haha, I remember that. He drew like one issue and had a nervous breakdown from actually being successful, then retreated into a hole and refused to answer e-mails from his editor. Sort of like when Dave Chappelle went crazy and ran away to Africa.

Now, Dave didn't really go Crazy, he just got sick of Comedy Central trying to take creative control of his show and pulled the "I'm crazy" card and ditched their asses. And the brotha still got paid. That oughta learn em to not tell people how many times they can drop the N bomb.

The real tragedy of that whole situation is that it left us with several seasons of Mind of Mencia in The Chappelle Show's place.

It is a good interview, although if it ties into the original GUARDIANS I am kind of screwed because I never read that at all. Hopefully DnA can get Groot's lingo better in the new series.
