Is there some Native American equivalent to curry? I've been trying curries from various different places whenever I see them at restaurants. I may have to track down a Native American place if they've got a variant.

To my knowledge there isn't a version, nor have I actually ever seen a Native American restaurant. I'm not really sure they actually have their own cuisine anymore.

Not that I really know that much about it. I'm 1/4 Lakota and my grandfather (full-blooded Lakota) died before I was even born. Though I've been thinking about researching it more lately since some of my "people" recently declared their own independent country in the middle of the US.

So Knowhere is a Celestial's head huh. It looks like a robot. Is that what Celestials are? Giant robots? Basically transformers that don't transform? Has it ever been explained what they are or where they come from or who built them?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celestials_(comics)

Knowhere was introduced in NOVA. As was Cosmo. ;)

I bet with the notions of time & reality being stretched, some people will be REALLY pissed off if Kang (or one of his hundred alternate timeline forms) isn't the main threat for the inevitable 3rd ANNIHILATION story.

From the way Warlock talks about prevention of Annihilation-level threats, I'd say that Conquest will be the last one for some time. Which would be a good thing. One of the reasons why the Infinity Saga got stale was because of the number of storylines it revolved around.

Celestials are, as far as we've been shown so far, the universe's equivalent of gods. You know how Earth has its pantheons of gods--the Asgardians, the Olympians, etc.? Well, the Celestials are basically like them to a far, far, far greater level. They just move around the universe, messing with different races' development in an apparently random fashion (they're responsible for creating the Eternals, the Deviants, the Skrulls (as we know them), and I think they've played with the Kree's genes in the past). They're basically on the level of Galactus--some comics have portrayed them as easily more powerful than he is, some have portrayed them a bit less powerful, but they're always pretty high up there on the power scale. No one knows why they wear armor or what they really look like, and they never speak unless they take human form. They're a big cosmic question mark and they bring a lot of mystique to the Marvel universe. They're cool.

So any guesses on the traitor?

I know warlock is the obvious choice though I definately hope it's not him cause this warlock is about the only version I really like at all. Plus I think he's the red herring.

If I was to guess I'd say either raccoon or gamora.

Gamora cause well she's pretty crazy on and off. Plus with her time with the time gem might have revealed something that would cause her to attack them for some unknown reason.

Raccoon, I don't really have much of a reason for other than to say that because he's such a smart rodent he might fall into some eventuality where it's betray the team and save the universe. I just get that feeling, plus he'd be the idea choice for someone that would fly below the radar but that's fully capable of taking the team down.

^those are flimsy reasonings, I know, but I wanted to start some discussion and involve some people that know far more about these characters then myself.

I don't really want to consider who the traitor could be because I actually like everybody on the team. That's why I'm hoping Warlock manifests the Magus as a separate entity or something and he "betrays" the team.

But if it absolutely has to be a team member, I'd go with Phyla. Have Annihilus finally take over the bands and possess her, kill her off, and then have sentient-construct-Wendell come back, exorcise Annihilus from the bands, and return to his rightful role as Protector of the Universe. :)

what, you couldn't find a way to throw thor and beta-ray bill in that as well?

You're losing a step, corp.

Personally I hope it's not one of those body take over things. It cheapens it. I'd much prefer someone on the team having to make the hard choice and do so willingly.

Ya know. I kinda like Phya. Better than I do Wendell. Which is freaky because I've read alot of him from the Two In One days. I like the way she uses a sword in addition to her other abilities. Maybe she could use the bands a bit better, but hey, she's kinda new. I think.

Plus I'm an old Moondragon fan from Avengers, but mostly Defenders.

I think I'm a Phyla fan.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

Well, ideally she'd be the first Centurion of the new Nova Corps whenever that's up and running. But I wouldn't mind killing her off if it meant getting Wendell back.

You're probably going to be disappointed. There's gonna be a twist to the "betrayal", more than likely.

I generally am, but it's ok cause as a spider-man fan I've had many many many years to build up a brain callous for these disappointments.

But the door is pretty much open for Wendell to return with new powers, and Phyla could keep the bands and be her own character.

I hate killing characters, personally. Especially when its done to "pave the way" for botchery as in the case of Genis-vell, Wendell, who were offed to make room for "the return".

Joe Q didnt like "mar-vell spin offs" and instead of just have them be off somewhere out off the picture, he kills them. Especially maddining with Genis as fans had voted to save him.

No need for wendall to be dead forever.

I read on a comics blog this morning that the "traitor" in GoG is going to be Skrull disguised as one of the characters and that it's tying in to Secret Invasion.

Ugh.

I hope this isn't true.

Well, it is tying into Secret Invasion. I don't know about the Skrull part, though. That would kind of suck, since, as I said, all the characters are likeable.

If one of them has to be a Skrull, I hope it's either Gamora or Mantis. Those are the two I like the least. Actually, Phyla is probably the character I like the least, but I'm hoping DnA can do good things with her and redeem the mantle of Quasar.

You could even throw in an excuse for why Annihilus turns into a ****** halfway through Annihilation by saying it was Quasar's doing.

I was a little miffed that talk of a traitor happened before issue #1 was finished. Used to be a team book could go maybe 2-6 issues before the most overused storyline in human fiction, a team being betrayed from within, was used.

An obligatory SECRET INVASION tie-in is coming, so a Skrull could very well be involved. Phyla is probably the only character I could do without, but this issue she wasn't all mopey and helpless, so I liked her more. I mean, if I wanted mopey, helpless superhero in a cape with light hair, I'd read The Sentry. :p

They need to have a mini series dealign with them. GoG could be the perfect group to meet one or deal with them. Corp, do you know any comic by chance where they took human form and talked to someone?

:hehe:Yeah, he does seem to be a priest for Thor huh.

There was a Celestial who took human form during the Onslaught stuff. She hung out with Franklin Richards in Heroes Reborn: The Return. I think we'll also be getting some more insight into the Celestials from the upcoming Eternals series. The two races are pretty intertwined, after all.

And I am not a priest for Thor. I just love him more than life itself. There's nothing wrong with that! :cmad:

Maybe it's Cosmo. Maybe one of the Guardians spills something and he's like, "Get off my Knowhere, *****es!"

It would have to be Raccoon since they already don't like each other and it would lead into an epic five-issue long fight.
