Guardians of the Galaxy

Interesting comments. Naturally DnA know their continuity and GOTG shapes up to be good. I am glad Vance Astro is there to stay.

I like the cast so much that I really don't want DnA to sacrifice one of them to the SI crossover. Hopefully it will be something like the actual event in the Savage Land where the Skrulls are more sowing distrust than outright impersonating someone. They'd better not get rid of Kosmo that way. :cmad:

Yeah, that's a nice switch-up, with Vance sticking around and Starhawk being all enigmatic. I'm curious about whether Vance's appearance in the 616 timeline coincides with any old Guardians stuff. If it does, it means he comes back to the 616 present sometime before #20 of the original GotG series, since that's when he ditched the containment suit and adopted his ugly Captain America rip-off costume.

Oh, and did anyone else see DnA's mention of an "old favorite alien race" and immediately think "Badoon"? That'd be pretty sweet. I love the Badoon. :)

Isn't the Universal Church of Truth those blue guys from Cable & Deadpool?

they had some Badoon in Annhilation: Conquest didnt they?

I seem to remember them in Nova

Yeah, for like a panel. One Badoon guy showed up in She-Hulk's comic recently as well. But they were just small appearances. I'd like to see them make a big return and become as much a part of the cosmic landscape as Skrulls and Kree and Shi'ar again.

...Warlock probably doesn't need to breathe at all since he's an artificial life-form...
In Annihilation: Conquest it says that he's an organic life-form. That's why Ultron took his body, because it was the perfect organic life-form.

Well, a day late and a dollar short but I really like the after battle Real World style confessionals. I read the Newsarama article, and was dissapointed to hear DnA say they will not be using it as much in future issues, but that's cool. I'm liking the book and the only thing I know of Vance is from an old Topps Marvel Universe trading card and he becomes Justice from the Busiek/Perez Avengers, so I'm looking forward to see where this goes. I'm digging Star Lord and he seems to be a great leader for this team. Anyway, can't wait for next ish.

Well, the Shi'ar don't do much outside the X-Verse. But I'm all for a Badoon uprising.

Aw, Ronan's totally taking his own failure in the Phalanx war out on Star-Lord. They need to schedule an appointment with Dr. Phil.

And yeah, this book's pacing moves it along at breakneck speed. It's good, though. There's no reason the status quo shouldn't be totally different by the 8th issue if the changes have been sensible and well written.

I find it interesting that StarLord is holding his own against someone the Avengers as a group had to jump on.

I always thought Ronan was just a fairly strong Kree with a really, really powerful weapon. Get in close, avoid the weapon, and he doesn't seem like he'd be too tough to take down, which is exactly what Star-Lord is doing. Plus, according to Wikipedia, Peter's Star-Lord suit grants him increased strength.

Just read the new issue. I liked it. Of course I did. Ronan. Blaastar. 42.

But the question I have is... Is that new recruit from the Micronauts? I'm trying to place him before I look him up. First thing that came to mind was Micronaut or some guy I read in a Marvel Two-In-One.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

Bug used to be with the Micronauts, yes. Somehow he wound up in a Kree prison, which is how he met Star-Lord and Rocket. He was on Star-Lord's "suicide squad" (or, as I like to call them, the dirty half-dozen) during Annihilation: Conquest. That's why he's ticked that Star-Lord and Rocket didn't ask him back when they put together the Guardians.

Bravo.

Those (tics) had me flashing back. I haven't read Micronauts in forever.

I haven't read Conquest yet. It's in the playlist though.

It was great to see Bug. Again. Bravo.

I love Bug. I wish he were on the Guardians team. That was one of my first questions when the new Guardians were announced. I was wondering why he was left off when most of the other dirty half-dozeners were on the team in some capacity.
