THE STORY:A REALM OF KINGS TIE-IN—GUEST-STARRING MAGUS! Star-Lord and the Guardians risked everything and suffered terrible losses in their epic, cross-time battle with Adam Warlock’s evil half. Except...everything they—and you—know could be wrong. Welcome to what’s really going on! Welcome to the kingdom of Magus! It’s all waiting for you in the book that has CosmicBookNews.com raving “DnA are mining the Marvel vaults for cosmic characters that have lain dormant for far too long…Guardians of the Galaxy consistently delivers the perfect balance of action, adventure, humor, drama, excitement, and unpredictability.”

Rated T …$2.99

Kind of weird that we wound up with the cartoony penciler for the arc about dead people, but I like his art anyway. Looking forward to how this all shakes out.

I love this guys art, I think it suits Guardians to a tee.

I haven't minded his art, and glad that not everyone who was killed off is dead. While Abnett & Lanning are good writers, sometimes people forget they're hardly shy about either resurrecting characters or "death fake outs". I mean, they axed Moondragon in ANNIHILATION CONQUEST only to revive her roughly a year later, after all. That's not a bad thing, though. A universe without Cosmo is not one I was comfortable with.

Major Victory is dead weight at this point with Jack Flag around, IMO. He rarely seems to have any personality beyond confusion about who or where he is, which gets old.

Man... I hate this art and I wish the artist would be put on another book.

Well, I can't say I HATE the art, but I don't like it in this. The story here feels like it should be fairly epic with Magus and Thanos returning soon, but this quality of cartoony art lessens that feel for me.

I find it funny that when JRJr draws for a comic, whoes style is just as cartoony, it's on the level of genius, but this gets stick.

I don't think JH likes JR Jr., either.

I want Major Victory to get over the identity crisis and become Star-Lord's 2nd-in-command of the Guardians. He should be leading the B-squad if the Guardians split their roster from now on (which they seem to do a lot).

To be fair, neither do I to an extent, but this really appeals to me.

Major victory hasn't really stood out to me so far, I'm still waiting for him to become more significant.

Me, too. I think DnA just threw him in as an homage to the original Guardians. I'm waiting for them to really do something with him beyond just having him around. That's why I think the 2nd-in-command gig would be perfect for him.

I think JrJr walks a fine line between cartoony and realistic, so it's acceptable for mainstream comics. As earlier stated, I'm not a huge fan of his anyway, but this guy on Guardians of the Galaxy is just full fledged Saturday Morning Cartoons. It's horribly distracting.

Now here's the confusing thing... he kinda reminds me of Chang... who I like a lot. He's more cartoony than Chang, but it's similar style. So maybe there is a slight double standard there.

I'm waiting for that space cowboy to come back................you know, the dead kree guy who was looking for the person who killed his parents who was suppose to be a major player in the Marvel cosmo but never did and just vanished.................that guy.

Wraith. I doubt we'll see him again anytime soon because... well, nobody really liked him.

I like his art, but its not a great fit for the book. Very Mignola-ish.

I like Major Victory, but as Ive said before this one was never confirmed as the Valentino one...so I dont feel like he's our guy....

But dread, I really havnt liked Jack Flagg so far. It was a neat comeback, but since then he's just been bland.

I love Jack Flagg. He's a great counterpoint to the cosmic pros like Star-Lord and Rocket and Drax, who've been around the universe and back a dozen times.

Jack Flagg rocks.

If you don't see it, then you're dead inside. :o

Jack Flag is indeed awesome, despite his hatred of cosmic stuff. I'm so glad Mantis and Cosmo are alive.

Not despite, because of. The fact that he very much casts himself as an outsider to the utter madness that is the cosmic side of Marvel, whereas the other Guardians all take it for granted, is what makes him such a great addition to the series.

Jack Flag is awesome. Not only is it cool that DnA rescued him from being crippled in THUNDERBOLTS by Ellis, but his schtick works out well. At this point even Peter Quill is well versed in "cosmic stuff", so Flag works as the outsider who doesn't really like it or get it, but is stuck knee deep in it. Plus, he does have cool hair. I like his red mask, too.

I agree that Maj. Victory is probably only here to tie into the past GOTG (along with Starhawk, who may pop back in). He could, or should, work as a second in command, but at this point it may be too late trying to make a character of him. Part of me is thinking that DnA might want to sacrifice one of the team to Magus for real at some point, and it might be him. It would be cool if in that moment, Flag got his shield. :awesome:
