The Amazing Spider-Man Guess the Lizard's revealing date!

At this time back in 2006 we were getting our second trailer for S-M3, so I wonder when something revealing (hopefully, the Lizard) does happen.

Lizard's CGI is probably still being worked on.

Hopefully not by Sony Imageworks.

For the actual movie, yes.

For promo stills and other stuff? No way in hell. They've got at least a few stills and a character poster ready.

Excluding the leaked Lizard pic (doesn't count)...I guess I can still win. :awesome:

Yep, only the official reveal counts :woot:

As the reveal will most likely be this month, it's now between you and SoNicRaDiATioN

SoNicRaDiATioN's guess: December 21st

I haven't the faintest clue. But I'll tell you this. The Dark Knight Rises is on fire right now and if Sony wants to so much as put a dent into that movies box office sales they'll get there act together right freaking now.

Getting ridiculous people.

agreed. But Sony has their own plans and they have made it clear that they wont play by anyone else's rules. If they did care about competing with TDKR they would've already revealed The Lizard. I have a feeling that they know that they don't have to compete with TDKR, and to be honest, there's actually no point

You see, TDKR is like an unstoppable force, it's not like TASM is ever gonna steal that fame, so if Sony does have well thought out plans for TASM, it would be just better for them to do it their way rather than just trying to steal TDKR's thunder, that way they might even have a chance to compete with TDKR in the long run

You have a point, but the fact remains that the reaction to a Spider-Man reboot is still mixed. Sony must really be confident in this movie...

Don't get me wrong, this movie will make a ****load of money simply because it's a Spider-Man movie... and I am SUPER excited for this. But for a reboot that hasn't exactly been welcomed with open arms, you'd think they'd be a little more hasty with the marketing... I just hope whatever Sony's doing works...

When we will get a second Avengers Trailer ? Spidey's first trailer better be released by then !

No idea about the first one. We're getting a Spidey trailer before the end of this month, though.

Now I hear this news about the new TDKR trailer being released online today.

If this is true, we will most definitely get a new trailer for AMS pretty soon I think.

I will be so happy if the Operation Early Bird thing is counting down to a new trailer for TDKR.... :D

That's what I'm hoping too, lol. :D
Fingers crossed so that Sony will jump in action if it is indeed the new TDKR trailer...

I read all this chatter about a trailer coming out this week to reveal the Lizard. I guess that rumor has been debunked... Jeez. The studio really knows how to dial up the wrong kind of press. History always shows that when you have confidence in your villains, you show them early to generate excitement. Clearly Sony is in no hurry.

green lantern was a lesson to all. if the shots aren't finished don't show them you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Hey, I just posted my 1000th post, yay! :D maybe I should finally get an avatar :P recommendations?

Good point! I think the impression has been made. All you have to do is look at the various polls on the web regarding anticipation for this film and it's barely charting. Other films like Avengers and Dark Knight Rising are doing very well.

so spidey is still anticipated despite hardly any marketing material. take your time and do the trailer right. better to come to the party late but blow people away rather than rush material and have the general audience avoid the movie like the plague

^^^ - Well that poll is gamed just a bit on the qualification of the film rather than general expectations. Spider-man has no competition in terms of remakes. But if you lump him in with a general expectation for films people are anxious to see, my original comment holds true. It gets even worse if you place him just in his genre alone. I do agree with you though. They need to get one H*LL of a good trailer out there or this thing will start to smell like Green Lantern.

btw, I just wanted to let you guys know (even though I'm not exactly a popular user here in hype) that I'm gonna get a new user with the username "TheWallCrawler", from now on I will not be using Jon90
