'Funnier' may be more accurate if Peter is sarcastic in this film as mentioned. But fun? I think we could have different definitions of fun as Batman Begins was a thrill ride and that was fun to me.

Once again .

I think a lot of negative reviews from RT reference that it is getting points taken off for being a supposed retread of Raimi's Spidey film. They are unfamiliar with key differences in characterization (this time Peter Parker is actually Peter Parker... Not Raimi's Clark Kent Parker) and origin of the character. They are seeking similarities to take off points for originality. Considering it is the same character and knowing how fans get, I think it is amazing they have taken it as far away from previous Spidey films as they have.

If TAS came out first I have no doubts it would blow away the score of Spidey Raimi's 1-3!

No crappy Parker characterization and horrible acting from Kirsten Dunst.

My prediction of 84% was obviously before we knew the current RT scores. It will likely end up at 79-80% from the way it looks now. I still feel it is getting bad scores from being considered a "retread" and too early for a reboot. I have a feeling when fans compare the movies, Raimi will not be the preferred effort.

Don't count on it.

Don't count on it.

So far the RT top critics consider ASM the second best SM movie. If the they and the fans feel the same about ASM and the sequels then overall the Webb Trilogy will be considered the better Spider-man trilogy.

Especially if one of the ASM sequels is considered superior to SM2 then it's game over.

We already looking at the sequel's quality?

Who cares about top critics? It's nonsensical to look at a smaller sample of reviews for comparison. Look at the general percentage. It's much higher than TASM.

And if we get a better trilogy, that's wonderful. But considering the Transformers guys are writing the sequel, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Oh God not this again... they have written plenty of other good things. Transformers 1 wasn't even THAT bad, RoTF is the one that totally sucked. And that one was written during the writer's strike so it had to be done in three weeks and it was rushed.

Well, they also wrote Star Trek, so it's not like their record is total crap. But still.

Raimi's trilogy isn't that particularly well written either.

Let's keep him out of this. lol
Who, elsewhere? He wanted get involved by making a facetious comment. But yeah, we'll keep him out it.

I actually had a golden quote from him in my sig that revealed his rather sad bias, but alas, it is no longer present.
