We will be able to tell it's Beyonce and Donald voicing those characters who are not human in appearance.
The lead actor doesn't have to excite anyone. They are selling the brand, not the actors. What did the public see the kid who played Mowgli in to get people into the theater for the Jungle Book? Do you need to see Donald Glover's face to see The Lion King? Is it going to tank because we don't see his face? Why even announce Beyonce, we won't even see her face. It's ruined!!!!!
But you won't be able to tell Will Smith is voicing a Genie that has his face super imposed on it? How did you know Robin Williams voiced the original Genie? We will be able to tell it's Beyonce and Donald voicing those characters who are not human in appearance.
You could compare this Genie to Mark Ruffalo's Hulk(especially the most recent version) and still have the same basic idea. Aside from having Will's face, what else on the Genie is reminiscent of Will's actual physical features? Same basic thing.Gollum. Thanos. Hulk. Davy Jones. Yoda. Snoke. Every single character in the Lion King.
Having a similar face to the actor, is very different then what is going on here.
No. The Hulk looks like Ruffalo. They didn't super impose Ruffalo onto the Hulk's body. That is why Genie looks so weird here, where as Hulk just looks more like Ruffalo. You could compare this Genie to Mark Ruffalo's Hulk(especially the most recent version) and still have the same basic idea. Honestly, who actually thought Will Smith wasn't the selling point? You've got a cast of literal nobodies in the other roles. Hell, we haven't even heard a line of dialog from the guy playing the title character for crying out loud, so **** knows what he's like as an actor.
The selling point isn't the cast for any of these adaptations of the animated classics. The selling point is nostalgia.
Mark Ruffalo's face blown up and a different color on a body-type that isn't his. Will Smith's face blown up and a different color on a body-type that isn't his.No. The Hulk looks like Ruffalo. I say this as a 1000% Emma Watson fan. BatB didn't make 1.25 bil WW because she was Belle. The selling point isn't the cast for any of these adaptations of the animated classics. The selling point is nostalgia.

Sounds the same to me.
Genie isn't a human character. He is a magical being. That is why he he looks nothing like the other animated characters and changes size at the drop of a hat. He should be pure wonderment. Not a bad take on Leto II during God Emperor of Dune. The selling point in the Jungle Book and Lion King is the animals. You can't seriously be saying who's playing the human characters in Aladdin doesn't matter. That's absurd.
I'm not pretending anything, have you seen him in Endgame? This is Ruffalo's face. Just because it's blown up and green doesn't change that fact. Genie is blown up and has pointed ears, but it still looks like Will. You can't try to pretend The Hulk looks anywhere near as much like Ruffalo as Genie looks like Will Smith. Genie is literally just blue CGI Will Smith.

You do realize that Mark Ruffalo is in Ragnarok right? We can see what he looks like at the time.Mark Ruffalo's face blown up and a different color on a body-type that isn't his. Will Smith's face blown up and a different color on a body-type that isn't his.
Sounds the same to me. And now, Hulk even sounds like Ruffalo when he speaks.
What's your point? We'll see a human Genie in Aladdin as well. You do realize that Mark Ruffalo is in Ragnarok right? We can see what he looks like at the time.

It has everything to do with what you wrote. You try to pass him as the selling point. He isn't. Aladdin, like the Jungle Book and the Lion King are sold on being animated Disney properties. Then you try and move the goal post an act like because there are human characters in this movie, that some how changes the selling point. It doesn't, but even still Genie ain't human. That has literally nothing to do with what I wrote.
That the Hulk didn't have Ruffalo's face super imposed on his weird CGI body. You said that is what they did. It didn't happen...What's your point? We'll see a human Genie in Aladdin as well.

Doesn't matter. The Hulk in Infinity War and Endgame has Mark's face. Looks super-imposed now even if that's not what they did. Let's use the most current appearances for these characters if we're going to debate. And how do we know they super-imposed Will's face in Aladdin? Has that been officially confirmed? That the Hulk didn't have Ruffalo's face super imposed on his weird CGI body. You said that is what they did. It didn't happen...

Out of curiousity, how does Hulk's appearance in Endgame potentially change the point? It's not like because they changed his look up, the other appearances no longer exist to compare it, or the Genie, to and see how they come up creepy.Doesn't matter. Oh so now all other CGI takes not cease to exist? Will Endgame now make more money because the Hulk looks a bit more like Ruffalo? Also beyond that being a pretty poor mock up (most such promotional material from those films are) that still doesn't even look at the same technique.Doesn't matter. I use the most recent examples because we don't know what tech they were working with during Ragnarok. Maybe they intended for the Hulk to resemble Ruffalo more strongly but the tech or wasn't there at the time or it wasn't in the budget. Now, for Infinity War and Endgame the Hulk looks exactly like a green Ruffalo in the face.In the other movies, he's never looked that close. It's the same idea with the Genie.Out of curiousity, how does Hulk's appearance in Endgame potentially change the point?
