Why did they think guy Ritchie was the person to direct this?

Speechless sounds like it could've been used for Elsa in Frozen 2.

I don't and never have based my enjoyment of a movie on RT score. It infuriates me so much. There are so many movies I've watched and liked that RT would deem "rotten".

I don't either, but RT has its uses. I am seeing this movie regardless at the end of the day, but I do want to see what the general criticisms of the movie are.

Base my enjoyment? No. But I like to see what a consensus is so I can know what to expect, or if it's a movie I'm on the fence about seeing and the score is one way or another will help determine if I'll see it.

That's fair enough. I definitely prefer reading Twitter reviews and seeing what every day people think as opposed to movie critics as I think my taste aligns more with the average person (I don't tend to watch movies with a critical eye, for me a good movie is one I'd want to watch more than once)

I like reading critics reviews more. Maybe it's my background in film school, but I like deep diving into why a movie works or not, and Twitter reviews and such don't give me the information I am looking for very often. Most people can tell if something is good or bad and if something is working for them or not, but a lot of times it cannot be articulated as to why. But that is the nature of being a film critic, really. Being able to dissect a film to great length. I also like comparing/contrasting my views on things and debating them. So even if I disagree with the critic's consensus, I like understanding their PoV so I can explain why I agree/disagree.

For those interested, I know a few of the audio only videos got posted, but the DisneyMusicVevo channel does have the entire soundtrack up. However it's not in order.... so I've taken the liberty of creating a playlist with them in order (they actually don't have an audio only of the "pop" English version of Whole New World (they have a spanish version), so I pulled the music video in for the English version in).

If I'm entertained, I'll usually "like" the movie despite whatever problems it may have.

Is jasmine supposed to be 14 in this to?

Is that how old the character is meant to be in the original? Why on earth would Disney make them little girls? How old is Aladdin in the original?

I think she's like 16 about to turn 17 in the 1992 one.

See I much prefer the Broadway version of Friend Like Me. It's got more of a fresh take on the iconic version Robin Williams did and feels more like a tribute rather than a rip off that Will Smith is doing.

That's still young. I presume Naomi Scott's version isn't that young but 10 years older, and that Aladdin here isn't a teenager either?

Snow White is supposed to be 14. Granted, I don't think any of those movies actually mention their ages.

I second this.

I enjoy watching the RT numbers as they come in, because I like watching the numbers. Much like my interest in box office. With the average rating it currently has, it can go in different ways.

As for its usefulness, I find the extremes, the 90% and 20% and below most useful.
