But no, she just lets the shields drop and then, offscreen, gets dumped into a trash compactor as a ****** callback to A New Hope.
Well considering she's already been confirmed to appear in the sequels in larger roles, apparently he can't get his facts straight.

He's just talking about how she's handled in this film.
It's fair to be disappointed considering how she's played up in the marketing, but a sentence or two prior to that line he says that it's like if [BLACKOUT]Boba got knocked in the Sarlacc by the end of Empire Strikes Back, implying that this is the end of Phasma. We know for a fact it's not, and if memory serves, she's only in this movie because Abrams liked what he heard about the character's concept for the later films and thought it'd be good just to establish her existence. [/BLACKOUT]
I didn't realize JJ had talked as much about how small her role is, I can get wanting to establish as part of the new trilogy form the start, but they could have given her one cool scene where we saw she was badass, [BLACKOUT]instead she came off looking a bit like a chump when Chewie and Finn took her down and forced her to show them the computer workings so easily.[/BLACKOUT]

He's not implying that though. He's just talking about how she's treated in this film. He knows how the character came to be and there are plans for her later.
Cool..?.she works her way out of the garbage and ends up still making out of an exploding blown up Death Star....
Then why bring up the [BLACKOUT]Sarlacc[/BLACKOUT] at all?
Guess so. I would have liked a scene showing [BLACKOUT]her, Kylo and Hux making it off the planet.[/BLACKOUT]

What comic is that from?
Especially Kylo....but oh well,..that wasn't handled correctly.
I found Captain Phasma really lacking in this film, but I do think there's scope to do something really compelling with her in future films...
Basically, if Kylo Ren is being set up as the arch nemesis and antithesis of Rey, as this film would suggest, then Captain Phasma should be set up similarly as the arch antagonist for Finn. I would like to see Finn's arc for the trilogy be him coming to terms with who he was and how he came to be that, and they could enrich his history with Phasma to make her into a faux maternal figure who trained him from childhood in the ways of cruelty and devotion to the First Order.
