'H2', Rob Zombie's sequel to 'Halloween'

Being a long time Halloween fan, I'm willing to give Lussier a chance. Just like I gave Zombie a chance from the moment he was announced from the remake.

I'm not thrilled that every movie has become 3D centric lately, but all the same, if the studios want to play with it further than so be it.

I don't mind the 3D thing catching on, it doesn't make or break a film anyway, it just makes a film, good or bad, look cooler.

While I own H20, I think the only good thing about that movie is the ending battle. The rest feels like the original Halloween turned into Scream.

I loved H20. I think because they were both in the 90's and made so close together.

And anyways, Scream was meant to be a parody of those films.

One of my favorite scenes in H20 was when Laurie sees a reflection of Michael in the window in the classroom. She closes here eyes, then he's not there. I might have mentioned this before, but just in case I didn't.

I think Laurie's story in H20 was really good, it is indeed too Screamified though.

It pisses me off to no end that it had possibly the best score of any of the sequels, but most of it was replaced with the damn Scream music.

Coincidentally, Patrick Lussier might get Marco Beltrami (who scored the Scream movies) to do the score. Or Michael Wandmacher, who scored MBV3D.

I, honestly, can't wait for his new album. His music rocks.

Well if was actually comparible to Hellbilly Deluxe then I'll be excited but his last album or two had one ok song but other than that I didn't like them.

I wonder where they'll go for Halloween 3D, would they bring back most of the cast from h2 without Rob coming back? Hmm.

Most of what cast?? Laurie and Brackett are all that's left. ._.

True. I remember either Zombie or Scout saying that H2 is not designed for a sequal at all.

Fine. But remember, Lussier was involved with Halloween H20, and that in itself makes him credible in my eyes. Farmer for me isn't a make-or-break deal for me, but I do question whether Farmer and Lussier made a story pitch first or Dimension approached them with the offer.

probably the latter. Good or not, no one I think is jumping to be the first to write Halloween 11.

I'm just saying.

Agreed. Scream is a great horror movie, even if it is a parody as well.

Variety updates the Weinstein's upcoming slate, saying that Halloween 3D will be in theaters October 2010, as opposed to August 2010. No other details, other than they're remaking An American Werewolf in London too.

Wow, two Halloween movies a year apart. Not sure whether I'm happy about that or not. I hope they're not rushing the script just for the sake of releasing it next year. That's what they did with Halloween 5, and that movie is terrible.

I'd say that they are rushing it to capitalize on the current popularity of 3D movies.

Zombie rushed out the script for H2 either before or after he sealed the deal with Dimension to do H2. Hell, Paramount quickly turned out Friday movie one after the other during the '80s (as well as New Line with their Nightmare series) -- the Halloween series isn't immune to this either.

I'm fine with Beltrami as long as he comes up with original music; the ridiculously stupid reason that H20 has the Scream score over it is it was the temp score over the test screenings, and the test screening scores were very high, and the brilliant Weinsteins didn't want to change ANYTHING so they refused to let them put the real Ottman score, which was great, over most of the film.

I'm a little confused about this movie. What the heck is it? A sequel to Zombie's film? A another reboot? What's up? I know this isn't a nice and popular opinion, but they should quit making these. H2 didn't make much, and I'm wondering what response the regular moviegoer will give this when they see the preview. Halloween 3D? "Another one? Didn't the last one come out last year?" And if it's a reboot it's even worse. They just came out with a remake in 2007, and then a year after the sequel to the remake there's another reimagining? Ugh.

I don't think anyone knows for sure yet.

It's a continuation of Zombie's films.

I agree the general public won't be too keen on another Halloween film so soon after H2. Regardless of how anyone personally feels about it, most people hated it. It's a very downtrodden film by a huge chunk of its audience, and it'll be viewed as a direct follow up to something that they hated by most of the general public, whether RZ is involved or not. I don't see it getting past $40 mill even if it's really good.

The only way I'd go for that is if Laurie went completely insane and has become the killer. If it's Michael Myers again, I'm done. That would make H2 at least the fourth movie in this series to have a definitive ending, only to have tanother movie come and say "Well, he's not really dead"

Oh, there'd be other ways to do it... I would know. :csad:
