'H2', Rob Zombie's sequel to 'Halloween'

1 year was way too soon for a new flick. I think 2 years was too soon from the last tbh.

Weinsteins just made it cause they thought it make more like the other and they need the money.

It's made 32 million so far domestically on a 15 million budget and still yet to be released overseas.

I would hardly call that a success...especially when Final Destination came out the same time and now stands at DOUBLE the domestic gross of RZHII.

I mean I was talking about the first Halloween from RZ. and Yes it is lower. FD4 has made 150 worldwide so far.

I think H5 could of been better had they waited as well. H4 was good, H5 wasnt as good at all.

Since we're talking about older Halloween movies, Halloween 2 (1981) would have been amazing if Carpenter returned to direct and Castle returned as The Shape. It had serious potential to live up to the first, although it is still just good enough to be a worthy follow up to Halloween.

I love the original Halloween II. It's my second favourite in the series. Amazing climax, with Loomis setting himself and Michael on fire.

A little well known secret is that Carpenter did direct a good piece of Halloween 2 himself. Carpenter was usually right there next to Miner in the directing chair.

I never knew that. No wonder HII is as good as it is then.

Carpenter was usually right there next to Miner in the directing chair.

It was Rick Rosenthal, who would later return for Halloween: Resurrection. Miner has only directed one Halloween at this point and that was Halloween: H20.

Although he did direct Friday the 13th Part 2 and 3.

I loved the original H2, favorite parts are when Michael stabs that nurse and lifts her body up with the scalpel. And when Loomis shoots his eyes and he's swinging in mid air and cant see.

Exactly, adn that's probably why Halloween II (1981) is my favorite sequel. Also, as someone else pointed out, Rick Rosenthal direct HII (1981), not Steve miner.

Okay, it was whoever and not Miner...I knew it was someone else not Carpenter. lol

But yeah, Carpenter was very well much the director of Halloween 2 as much as the actual guy who directed it.

Definatly my favorite moment in Halloween 2. Michael is so determined to kill that he'll just swing at the air if blind.

Wasn't that Laurie that shot his eyes out? Loomis just turned on the gas.

Yeah, he stabbed Loomis and as Michael was walking towards Laurie that's when she shot his eyes out. That was one of my favorite moments.

It was intense because you got the feeling he was still going to get her.

Yes, it was. Curtis' Laurie was still kicking some ass in HII. And she helped Loomis turn on the gas cannisters.

Brilliant sequence. Literally an explosive finale.

I don't know if you guys in the U.S. get the movie magazine, Total Film, but here in europe it is very big, right along side Empire. Anyway, for the last two years they've been having a public vote for people to vote in the top 100 movie characters, and they finally published the results in a special edition this month.

Several characters from the horror movies made it to the list, including Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Dracula, Rosemary Woodhouse, and Jack Torrance. Surprisingly only one character from the Halloween series made the list, and that was Jamie Lee Curtis' scream queen, Laurie Strode, who got the 94th spot.

I was surprised Pleasance's Loomis never made the list, because he absolutely deserved to be there if Laurie was there, too.

For those who are interested, Jason got the 100th spot, and Freddy got the 78th spot. I'll gladly scan their pages, too, if anyone is interested in reading them.

I'm glad to hear that Curtis' Strode made the list...but that is surprising that Pleasance's Loomis didn't make it.

Yeah, considering he was a bigger part you could say. Since he was in 5 movies compared to her 2 movies, 3 if you really wanna count Resurrection.
