'H2', Rob Zombie's sequel to 'Halloween'

"The fans have made it clear — and we agree — that they feel the franchise is in great hands with Rob Zombie."

Considering the Weinstein's history for sequels. It's not really a surprise that he supports it in any way, shape or form. Dimension Films under their supervision spawned HELLRAISER sequels, MIMIC sequels and CHILDREN OF THE CORN sequels galore.

The Weinstein's have been in support of the franchise since they won out the rights for it, back in the Dimension days. It's a plus to say the least.

The part where they state that "the fans have made it clear" as to their supposed universal support of Rob Zombie is what I take issue with.

It's just a bad spot to be put in. I mean yes, it IS a horror movie. Horror movies don't normally follow reality but still...

HE WAS SHOT IN THE FACE! To me, it's the same thing as getting his head chopped off at the end of H2O. (But there's no way they'll pull the 'oh, it was really someone else' and ruin the whole darn thing! :cmad:)

Haven't people survived that before? Maybe the bullet entered his cheek and went through his neck. Heck, there are people who live with half a brain. So if she shot him in the head, he can still be back.

He was taking bullets like nobodies business in the remake when supposedly being "human" (I think). So it's possible he'll probably be walking around with a big gaping hole in his face.. with Zombie and his gore, I wouldn't doubt that's the idea.

They're going off of the fact that Rob's "Halloween" made more money during its theatrical run than any of the other "Halloween" films did.

Sure Carpenter's film continues to make money and then some, but it had to do so over time. If we're talking about initial Box Office, "RZH" takes the crown.

Well, in other Halloween movies Michael had been beaten by a pipe until his eyes start oozing out green stuff and still lives. Not to mention he has been completely on fire and shot in the face and chest tons of times and still lives. Not much different then the old ones which still was a little much.

That could also be due to ticket inflation of price. I mean TDK is all time sales but it's not top fifty in amount of tickets sold.

Easy way out:

If I recall, Michael grabbed Laurie's wrist first before she fired the gun; we could always assume he jerked the barrel away slightly, just enough that it didn't hit him and he then went into a coma from his injuries.

I guess. It just seems like Zombie went out of his way to 'humanize' Michael.

Did he? I can't really remember. Even if he did grab her wrist, she still fired the gun at point blank range into his face. And the movie ended with her screaming like a baby sitting on top of him. I guess you could always say 'he's just pretending to be dead.'

I think whether they can pull that off depends on what we saw when she pulled the trigger. If my memory serves correctly, all we saw was lLaurie's face when she fired the gun. I may be wrong.

And blood splattering all over her face after she shot him and screaming out of control.

Which clearly means that she hit him. And hit him good.

Or she maybe even shot him in the throat. That can be a possibility.

If she shot him in the throat, with that size of a gun, his head would be hanging on by a thread. And he'd be dead. Not faking dead. Dead. (Unless it's more like 'Red Eye' where Cillian Murphy's character was stabbed in the neck with a pen.)

I forget the size of the gun used. How big was it?

If so in any case They really screwed themselves on this. lol.

I can't remember either but it seemed like it was a magnum or something. It was a bigger gun.

80,000 posts! Congratulations Apatow! :applaud

How on earth do you people find the time to post as much as you do? Seriously Marx, you've only been here months and you're almost to 10,500...

Anyway, to get back on topic...What do you guys want to see from Rob in the next film? Anything specific?

Thank you, just means i have no life. lol.

And i don't know it'll be interesting to see where Rob goes with the story and how he deals with what happen at the end.

oh, god i just had a thought. what if its a fake Micheal like in that one Friday the 13th. But i don't think he do that though, atleast i would think he wouldn't.

Halloween Ressurection they explain that Michael put the mask on someone else and Lori cut his head off with an axe in H20. But I hated that...

I was so disappointed when the series continued after H20. I thought it was such a fitting end to have that emotional scene between Michael and Laurie...then they ruined it with Resurrection. :csad:

^ Exactly. I thought H2O was great and they just created some excuse to bring him back.
