'H2', Rob Zombie's sequel to 'Halloween'

I have no problem with it. He's only real relationship he seemed to enjoy was the one he had with his mother. Michael always had family issues

In the original, Michael had no family issues. In the series, the only issue he had with his family was that he wanted each member dead. I just feel like having his mother taunt him and tell him to kill is such a cop-out, and once again takes away some of the mystery that surrounds Michael Myers.

Disclaimer: I understand this is Rob's vision and he can do whatever he wants and change is good blah blah blah, so don't get on my case about any of that. I'm just saying, it sounds like a lame idea.

Sounds a little too Friday the 13th ish. I don't like it.

Well, thats good cause this is not the original.

This is RZ's Halloween. So you should expect things to be different. If you want the same thing from JC's halloween, just watch JC's halloween.

And i'm just saying thats all. Thats my opinion.:yay:

It's something that probably would be too cheesy to even be in a F13 movie. Remember in Freddy vs Jason when Freddy pretends to be Jason's mom and tells Jason to wake up and go back to the real world and kill again? This is like that, except that Michael's actually thinking it...without the help of a mythical dream creature like Freddy.

Not everything boils down to people wanting things to be indentical like you say. I'm all up for change, just change that is actually compelling rather than lame, and that has some sort of respect for the character it is based on. Why even make a Michael Myers movie if you don't like the character and want to change nearly everything about him? That's all I'm saying.

Ayy that sounds horrible. In essence that is the purpose of FT 13th. Jason's mother commanding him to kill. This setup is basically a carbon copy!

Speculation is fun, isn't it? We haven't seen the trailer and only heard someone describe it and have some vague lines from Sheri.

From where I see it, Michael doesn't have mommy issues the same way Jason did. Michael's more of a person who only had his mother and baby sister not tourment him, but his mother is dead and he possibly is in a state of mind that wants to see/be with hism other again. Michael isn't going to commit suicide, but he's possibly just going to go through his life killing until he's dead. Where as Jason, he was just killing FOR his mother, Michael is killing for himself to make up for the tourment. His mother is just a memorty and dream to him now, he has no connection with her but wishs to have one so he creates a false stigma of his mother who doesn't see the evil.

Make sense?

Now if you want to take this further, we can just say that Jason is a copy of Norman Bates with the mother issue, and trust me, Norman takes the freakin' cake.

You know we're in trouble when we're making comparisons to Freddy Vs Jason :oldrazz:

This Michael is different from the original one. This Michael obviously cared about his mother and his baby sister, Laurie. They were the only two in that family who didn't treat him like crap. When he went after Laurie years later, he only abducted her. He didn't try to kill her. Not until she turned on him and hurt him.

Michael's a bit odd in RZ's version when it comes to Laurie. From my view, I still don't personly think he ever tried to kill her at the end. He just wanted to abduct her and keep her safe and watch over her and be the BIG brother. When she tried to get away, he had to step up his method of keeping her. He was tame when he just busted in the bathroom door and took her, but he saw she didn't 'get it' and tried to get away. So he had to figure out how to keep her put, and he knew that if you hurt them a little, they won't run.

Michael's just a BIG kid. He knows this and that about knives and what they do and who not to use them on, but he can be rough when it comes to not hurting someone.

Cheesy or not, that was actually one of the driving forces for Jason early on in the series, specifically Part 2.

Quick question ... I can't recall from RZ Halloween, but do we know if Michael found out his mother killed herself? Does he think she just stopped showing up and abandoned him? Even if he was told there might be doubt/confusion in his mixed up mind.

No, I don't ever think it is made clear to him that his mother is dead. But i think he might get it though.

The trailer's here bootlegged of course

Well, looks like I was right with Michael's mom. She actually said, "Now go have some fun" and "Kill her, baby!" That's gonna be hard to stomach. And the whole "secret behind his madness will finally be revealed" voiceover? Lame.

Other than that, I like the feel of the trailer. Hobo Michael is strange to look at, but better than a maskless Michael.

What the hell, That looked like crap. The whole "kill her baby" seems like it's ripped right out of F13

I liked everything in the trailer except for one thing:
Michael's mother appearing to him as an evil vision telling him to kill. Way too Jason Voorhees like for me.

Compton seems very impressive as Laurie Strode. I am eagerly awaiting to see her the most. Laurie was always my fav Halloween character.
