'H2', Rob Zombie's sequel to 'Halloween'

This is not a good motivation to make movies.

A lot of people do movies for the money. The guy from Alias did Never Been Kissed, Martin Campbell did the Zorro sequel, etc. for financial reasons.

I'm sad to say it, but Rob's lost it. He's completely selling out. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame the guy...have you seen the US econemy lately? But it really hit me that he's all about the money and marketing and selling of bogus dreams when he announced the title of his new album. Yeah, The Blob thing struck me odd, but HELLBILLY DELUXE 2??? Come on, the records been done a year and he didn't have a name for it until recently. Hyping it as the sequal (seriously...) to his huge 1998 album and saying it's equal to THAT?? REALLY? It's not going to be anything near that I bet. Nobody from HD1 is still in the band, except of course for Rob but even he's changed dramaticly in music since then. It's just a scam for you to REMEMBER who he WAS back THEN and buy what he has out right NOW. If they loved Hellbilly Deluxe, they'll love the sequal!!! Damn, we're stupid.

But back to this H3D....once again, I told you guys the first day H3D was announced the director of MBV3D would be their choice and I was right. Why? Because he was the only logical choice. His film was a success, it's similur in a mask killer killing people type film, and he knows how to work great 3D images. I loved MBV3D. Yeah, the story was simple...but the images and sights in that film were great for 3D. Yes, 3D films are the HIT NEW THING. It's the 1950's ALL OVER AGAIN....except with a black guy in the office. Weird. We have truely entered the Twilight Zone...IN 3D!! *oh that would be awesome*

But yeah....Can't wait 'til next year.

I didn't see Never Been Kissed, and didn't like the Zorro Sequel, but what I meant is that money, even tough a big part of the equation (like Woody Allen said it's called Show Business for a reason, otherwise it would be called Show Show:woot:.), should not be the only motivation imo.
That said I can pretty much enjoy any type of movies, even the ones only made for financial reasons, but I also like a minimum of respect for the craft.

Absolutely. Even for those who didn't like MBV3D, Lussier has at least two respectable movies under his belt and unlike RZ, he knows how to shoot and edit his films properly. Plus, he edited Halloween: H20 for Steve Miner (who was rumored to direct H3D too), which is a more loving tribute to the Halloween franchise than the RZ movies are.

I wonder who Lussier will bring on to score Halloween 3D. My guess is either Michael Wandmacher or Marco Beltrami.

Even worse....ugh. Todd Farmer.:down

Safe to say this one is gonna suck in all captial letters folks.

Oh, I forgot to say that I saw this last weekend.

This and TF2 are the worst movies of 2009 so far.

And The Unborn.

Replace TF2 with Gamer or Sorority Row and I'm with you.

*Not defending TF2, just consider it lame as opposed to awful.

God, it's a shame we can't attract good writers or directors to horror projects anymore. Where are the William Friedkans' and John Carptentor's or Wes Craven's?

It's actually kind of smart for them to stay away at this point. That is until someone comes along with an original and interesting horror script.

I dunno, after seeing RZ derail the franchise in a hideous one-two punch, having Lussier and Farmer come on is a godsend in comparison.

Now, while I get why some people aren't liking this news (because of the duo's previous works), their work is a helluva lot better than RZ's filmography. And again, Lussier has had experience working on the Halloween franchise before, so I have faith in him.

I think to bring back Micheal from the dead it make more sense to just do the Jason thing, and have him be struck by lighting.

Hahahaha. That's the funniest post all day.

Rob's movies may not be the best movies ever, but My Bloody Valentine 3-D is the WORST horror movie I've seen this year.

Jason X is considered to be one of the worst horror movies of all. Dracula 2000 doesn't rate much better.

Rob is ten fold better than both of them critics wise and my opinion wise.

I actually really enjoyed H2. I loved the brutal violence, the atmosphere, even digged some of the ghost stuff. The only thing that bothered me was The Doctors new personality (Only interested in selling books) and the ending. I would love another Zombie Halloween but not one with a Killer girl wearing a massive mask.
Overall I have to give Zombie credit for trying to take this tired franchise and making it gritty and real. Unlike The Friday The 13th remake that simply skipped Jason's childhood and went straight to typical over lit 90210 Slasher with no atmosphere. I'll take Zombies white trashy characters and cinematography any day. :)
Just remember how horribly cheap Halloween Resurrection was.

Wait ? Rob Zombie's Making a new album ?....... Awww yeeeeah

It's been done for over a year, just sitting on a shelf because Rob ran off for H2. It'll be out Nov. 10th. It's just a scam I think to throw on that title to the album to sell it , but whatever. I'm looking forward to hearing it myself, but I don't expect it to be a sequal or companion piece to the first Hellbilly Deluxe. I might go check him out in concert when the tour starts.

It seems I'm alone in thinking Zombie's take is better than going back to "Trick or Treat Mother ****er' or worse, the thorn y ********.

Thanks, but no thanks. Start from scratch. Or better yet leave it alone. They took the original concept about as far as it could go in Halloween II and then again in H20. Neither time they stopped. Zombie took his concept as far as it could go in this film and even arguably the end of his first. Leave it alone. Ther are plenty of other masked killers to regurgitate. Michael has been pure evil, a sadist, a victim, an idiot, a terribly written anti-hero for slasher fanatics, a psychologically ****ed up serial killer, a disturbed boy, a happy boy, a poorly acted boy, modestly sized, a giant, a chubby middle aged guy...

We've gone about as far as the concept will go. Or you have the balls to do something completely different as Carpenter originally intended.

Fine. But remember, Lussier was involved with Halloween H20, and that in itself makes him credible in my eyes. Farmer for me isn't a make-or-break deal for me, but I do question whether Farmer and Lussier made a story pitch first or Dimension approached them with the offer.
