The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Had an interesting convo this week... (Spoiler)

Carnage should NEVER be in a Spider-man movie, neither should any of the other symbiotes except Venom

The symbiote sage is a total farce and it was Marvel trying to milk too much out of Venom's success and making a mess

"NEVER" is a very long time.

Wrong. Just because you don't like a character in a comic book, it doesn't mean they should never be in a film.

To me, Venom is just a awful, dumb vehicle for the arrival of that wonderful psychopath, Antivenom.

this guy for Cletus.

. He was great in Dexter.

Venom is considered on of Spider-Man's greatest foes, contrary to popular SHHB belief.

Its not that I don't like Carnage,he is cool

I like both Ben Reilly and Carnage, but both the Clone Caga and the Symbiote Sage is a mess and too unrealistic and drawn out to be in a movie.

Just Venom is fine

Carnage was fine. He was just overused. He's a great villain when you use him sparingly.

I actually think Venom's origin in the comics was far more face-palm worthy. The various cartoons that have come since (90's TAS and SSM) have improved the character greatly.

But Venom, like Carnage, is best when used sparingly. They're both one-trick ponies or more less. Venom is all about revenge. And Carnage is just pure murdering psychopath. So for one film they could work great.

However, in a medium like the comics, they were overexposed to ridiculousness.

If Carnage were to show up in this franchise, Matthew Lillard all the way.

I can't take Shaggy seriously.

So is Dragon PM'ing the answer to people? If so I'd like to know. Also I just got a txt from a friend asking if Jim Carey was going to be playing Cletus Cassady in the film. Is that a new rumor?

That's the rumor Dragon was talking about. Either for Cletus or JJJ.

Funny how clueless sites just tack on the Carnage part just to get more views. Ridiculous.

Prison Break! He's phenomenal!

Lol why are people slagging of SWH. I think he's great. He should join this board.

I love Carnage. HOWEVER... I don't think he should be in a movie anytime soon, simply because it could be too repetitive. Same reason we shouldn't get Hobgoblin right after the Green Goblin.

I think Carnage should be used as the villain of a Venom spin-off.

i think it would be rushed if that happened ^ for many reasons although i would like too see it attempted

I love Jim Carrey. Yes, the majority of his movies post Eternal Sunshine have been utter crap (though I liked his Number 23 flick), that will never take away the countless hours I've laughed watching him in the 90s. I fully agree with anyone who says that he is an incredibly diverse and talented actor.

That being said...he is one of those actors whom you don't watch to see the role he's playing...you watch the film to see "Jim Carrey", if that makes any kind of sense. I'm concerned that the baggage of OMFG IT'S JIM CARREY being in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would overshadow the character he's playing, or worse, the movie itself.
