The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Had an interesting convo this week... (Spoiler)

Skate or Die

One of my favorite NES games. Loved that pool level.

Haha alrighty. Good to know. I used it in the other thread. Maybe I'll get an award for it.

You get all of the rewards!

So about Jim in The Amazing Spider-Man 2... Has anyone asked him about it yet? Interviews, random paparazzi etc?

Well, he isn't doing Kick-Ass 2 press, so I doubt he's been getting interview lately.

If Carrey is playing Cletus Cassidy why would they introduce him before introducing Brock? Sorry if this has been asked already.

Carnage is awesome but seems like he should be an afterthought far in the future after establishing the symbiote/Brock. Or maybe they'll introduce the symbiote with Cassidy to avoid repeating anything SM3 did. So far they've avoided all villains already done.

If he his playing Cletus(which I don't think he is), then it's more than likely just a cameo/easter egg for the fans.

I doubt we're gonna see Carnage in this line of films.

exactly especially with the route this movie series is going with the sinister six. carnage has no place in it

It'd be cool to have villains in the movie before they're villains, then not to evolve them. Just have Cletus doing something crazy and leave it up in the air when they send him to Ravencroft or something.

Seeing as Ravencroft is in the actual film, i think he'll just be a prisoner there and we will just see a glimpse of him in his cell.

Here's a followup tweet from that guy who posted that photo of himself and Jim Carrey on the "Spider-man set" earlier in the year

"I did not meet Jim Carrey at a spiderman set. I met him at the letterman show. I didn't want people showing up so I said it was a movie set."

Mhm. Yup.

This is why I don't believe anything until I see it on the screen.

From the same guy who tweeted that:

I bet more than a few sites are feeling really stupid right now.

Probably. Because they posted as a straight up fact rather than a rumor until proven legit.

If it was a hoax by Dragon, I can't say I didn't see it coming.

Admittedly, I went along with it like everyone else (he had me very well duped), but I had a nagging suspicion about it. It was made a legitimate concern when I pm'd Dragon the link to that instagram/twitter post, prior to it being posted here. I wanted to see if it was posted by his friend or just provided confirmation of his story.

He immediately stopped posting here after that.

So I think I caught him in his lie. Be it creating a fake story about what he didn't know was a hoax in and of itself, or reporting what he knew was fake and twisting it to make us believe it, dig further, and inevitably gain it exposure..

I mean, why else would he post the name of the "well known actor" with a "household name", but not the character which, in retrospect, would've been a lower profile scoop then saying the actor playing it is Jim Carrey?

Attaching Carrey's name would make it a scoop the likes of which could be picked by tons of sites, rather than being a scoop that would remain relegated to cbm and movie sites had he just said the character.

^Yeah...I can't say I'm surprised if Dragon really did make everything up. I didn't wanna say anything at the time, but I found it weird that he even bothered posting anything here that wasn't a slam against ASM.

He doesn't seem the type to falsify information of that measure.

If it was a hoax, it was a damn good one. If only because it was relatively obvious yet still the majority of us.

Also that he made an entire thread about a scoop that, he said he wouldn't give details about, when he could've mentioned it in the general discussion board.

Now I'm not saying Dragon's scoop was a hoax, but if it was, it would make more than a little bit of sense.
