More Eckhart news?
Tuesday, January 2, 2001:
A possible clarification of that Aaron Eckhart news that surfaced a week or so ago. I put the rumor up to one of my sources last week, and he just got around to firing an email back to me over night. Anyway, while he wouldn't, or couldn't, confirm or deny the rumor, he says that it is very possible that Aronofsky would go with someone in that mode. He continued that even though it is "year one" of The Batman, it doesn't mean that we are going to get a super young Bruce Wayne. The actor chosen could well be in his late 20's or early 30's. He reminded me that Aronofsky has been quoted as saying "this will not be teen Batman," and that he had not decided just how old Wayne would be in the film. He further mentioned that he had heard that with the live-action BATMAN BEYOND having a young Batman, the people behind YEAR ONE may avoid any similarites. Interesting. Late.

Here is the previous weeks news jet was talking about.

Eckhart Aronofsky's choice to be The Bat?
Monday December 25, 2000: Taking a short break from my holiday vacation to pass on a bit of Bat-news that I stumbled across. COMING SOON! is reporting that actor Aaron Eckhart is director Darren Aronofsky's top choice to play Batman in his upcoming Bat-film. This comes from a source that says he got this info from a "friend that is good buddies with Aronofsky." I warn you to take this info with a large grain of salt; as even this website is chalking this up as "rumor...." Oh yeah, Rachel and I are getting married this coming Saturday. So props to us! Hope you all are having a great holiday! Adios for now!

And now he's Harvey Dent/two-face. Interesting, indeed.

It´s interesting that more than once actors who were initially considered to play Bruce/Batman ended up playing villains. It happened to Cillian Murphy too.

he was the original choice for Gordon in that film version, if I remember correctly

I think every person who was a serious candidate for Batman should play a villian in the future sequels...even for Catwoman and Talia.

from now on, every actor ever who has been up for the role of Batman has potential villain casting. Cillian Murphy, Eckhart........

I don't recall Eckhart been up for role of Batman in Begins, I believe hw as up for Gordon role in Batman: Year One movie.

I just heard a rumor that Michelle Pfieffer will be playing KGBeast. I'll send updates as they come my way...

Too bad Keaton never got to play the Joker. So likely Eion Bailey,Billy Crudrup and David Boreanz will have job security in the future Bat installment.

Christian Bale was up for Robin in Batman Forever aswell.

Christian Bale was up for Robin in Batman Forever aswell.

Not only a big break for us, but Bale dodged a huge bullet by not getting that role. His career would be over by now like O'Donnell's.

Nice find!
But I agree with that guy which once said that almost everybody in Hollywood was already (or will be at some point) rumored as being casted in the next Batman film. :o
