Sci-Fi Halo - The Live Action TV Series - By Steven Spielberg

I know this show is still getting a lot of hate, but man I'm really enjoying this season so far. The action sequences have been pretty badass and top notch and the pacing seems much better this season as well.

It's not perfect but its definitely feels like an improvement over the first season IMO.

Most of the complaints are about Chief being outside his suit or not wearing his helmet, entire unserious cause he's still a BAD MFer in the show.

I am going to laugh my ****ing ass off if Paramount buys Red vs Blue.

Nearing the end of the season and so far Kai is still my favorite borderline sociopath.

I'm assuming it'll get picked up by some other studio for a third season but I thought this was one of Paramount's flagship shows. Were numbers that bad or is it just too expensive for them to produce?

I also haven't watched season two yet so I'm part of the problem. :o

I never played the game, which obviously means I've no idea what was changed for this TV adaptation. Hence, for me this was a decent sci-fi/action TV-show that was entertaining enough, and I would've liked another season. And of course personally the same goes for The Last Of Us and Fallout, which I highly enjoy without playing the games.

Expensive and I don't think it was pulling in the numbers to justify it. With something like Star Trek, they make a decent amount of ancillaries because they own it. Which is why they can kind of justify their expense on it. Plus it has a dedicated fanbase that watches it all.

If only they didn't piss off the Halo fans by having Master Chief take his helmet off all the time. :o

Kidding aside, I don't even remember just how much of a controversy that stirred up but speaking as a casual fan from the Halo 1-3 days, it was kind of ridiculous that they felt the need to unmask him as much as possible when there were virtually no complaints about having a main character in a helmet for 95% of the time with The Mandalorian.

As a big Halo fan, I feel like how they approached the show doomed it from the start. All they had to do was make a fun action series, where Chief does cool stuff and bonds with Cortana. Maybe flashback to his before times, to add some character. But making it Halo INO, turned me and so many others off.

There's always the (slim) chance that if it gets picked up by a new streamer they could course correct with a reboot of sorts that's more in line with the original game lore.

I'm curious as to who would picks it up now since they're obviously going to try to shop it around. Netflix doesn't really need it but they could be enticed since some of their big shows like Stranger Things and Cobra Kai will be wrapping up soon. Max doesn't need it. Prime doesn't need it because they already have Fallout and a money pit of their own in Rings of Power. Maybe Peacock?

I honestly don't know. Looking up the numbers, they were basically doing Acolyte numbers, which I don't think plays well for any major streamer. So I guess if Peacock could afford it, they'd be a decent play.

I also forgot Apple TV. They love to burn money because they can afford it, so maybe there's a chance there. :o

Personally, I hope this show dies in the wind and the property is rebooted entirely sometime down the road. A new television series or movie franchise.

This show suffers the same issue as Rings of Power for me. Takes too many liberties with the canon and the characters that it's borderline unrecognizable from the story I love.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised this got cancelled considering how Season 2 pretty much came and went without any buzz at all and its a shame because I thought it was much better than Season 1.

I know most people didn't like Season 1 which wasn't going to do Season 2 any favors, but I still wish more people gave it a chance although I wouldn't be against a complete reboot either.

Good riddance to this hunk of crap. Glad it's going away before they really start to mine the games and not the ancillary lore. All the money wasted on this show should've been allocated to Axis Studios to make some short films. Their animation work for the games was fantastic, and the fact they got shut down sucks.

If the show doesn't get rescued and picked up, I won't be shedding any tears. It just wasn't fun to watch.

The character motivations and drama were badly written, executed, and made no sense. I have no idea why Kwan Ha is in the show and why the show continued to put so much emphasis on her in Season 2. She's annoying and not a cool character.

I have no idea why the UNSC was so spineless and acting the way they did and gaslighting everyone in Season 2. That's now how the Fall of Reach happened. Even then, none of the UNSC's actions make any sense. Why all the contrived subterfuge? It feels like they invented a lot of things that didn't happen and weren't necessary. Oh but the guy behind the conspiracy is sad about his dad who has Alzheimer's, so I guess we're supposed to feel empathy for him or something?

It feels like Season 2 doubled down on everything people disliked about Season 1 with things like Makee. It feels like they were trying too hard to make it like Game of Thrones with lots of palace intrigue, but that's not really Halo.

Considering how much money they spent on the show, it looked terrible and looked like SyFy level visuals. If you go back and watch Farscape, the visuals and CG and everything aren't high budget or anything but it's a much higher quality better written show.

Well, I would imagine those two seasons probably weren't cheap. They probably cost close to $200 million. Also, Paramount has the whole Skydance buyout going on. That means a lot of shows on the bubble are probably going to get canceled and some projects will likely be shuttered.

The show is another video game adaption where the people making it clearly didn’t respect the games. I’m glad it’s canceled and hopefully in the future we get a new adaption that is faithful to the games.

Sad to hear it was cancelled....hope someone else picks it up. I never played the game or read any of the books, so I can't complain about any changes. For me, it was a fun sci Fi action show.
