Again that is your opinion, but I would venture to say that the majority of people disagree with you
I really don't know whats to hate about Bad Boys 1 or 2 to be honest. The films accomplished what they set out to do. They were entertaining action films, with some real funny moments. I don't think it set out to win oscars. Also I personally loved Enemy of the State, thought it was a pretty good thriller with good performances from Smith and Hackman.
Others, I Am Legend I thought was a good film, people get so hung up on the source material. I could honestly care less how the book ended. I enjoyed this ending. While I agree the CGI wasn't spectacular, I don't think it hindered the film. With Hitch I thought it was a good romantic comedy and Smith and Mendes had some pretty good chemistry together.

You hated I am Legend?! First one that I've seen!
And Hancock I prefer to watch before say something.
.... it would have been a much better movie. It lets you think a whole bunch more... but unfortunately the majority of general audiences don't like to think.I think you really have to try hard to hate Will Smith. Really, you do. Most movies he's been in, even if they bombed, he did a decent job in, he has a likeable presence. That's all that is.
I love the book. I dont hate the movie cause thefirst 3/4 i thought were really good. But its totally understandable that the book fans would completely despise the movie. I dontknow why people are so surprised.

ya, i know most movies don't follow books very well.. but it astounds me that the movie they created doesn't fit with the title now... lol, Neville found the cure and died.. whee! *yawn* too much of a hollywood ending... the books was soooooo much more deep![]()
So you hated the movie for not being like the book?
What about the movie as itself? Minus the book from the equation?
That's what I do. I think that books can not make the transition to the silver screen without there being changes. That's why they are called adaptations. Now, I know that some don't agree with this, but that's how I do it. I watch a film without any bias, then judge it based on it's own merit, because when bias is put into the equation, the critique of the film is no longer valid.
...but that's just me. I'm just telling it how it is. No flamewars wanted.
I really hate when people get irritated or annoyed or even hate a movie for whenever it does something different than the book as if it even matters.
I guess some people look at movie adaptations differently than others. To me, a movie is a movie and a book is a book. It's nice where you can take a book, translate it into a movie and make it a good movie. It's only a bonus if they manage to keep close to original material.

I'm not making excuses for the film or anything like that. I'm just talking in general. Heck, they could've used the original ending and still screwed up.And a story is a story despite the medium. The ending was horrible. The original last man on Earth story became the last man in New York, and the monsters became generic when they were so more creative in the book. After Neville crashed his car on the dock the movie became so bland.

Caught Hancock a couple of weeks back at a screening here in L.A.
It was weak. Real weak. It will make some cash because it's a Will Smith 4th of July deal, but not nearly as much as past years, especially once the word gets out. They're promoting this thing like it's a big-time superhero action flick and I can tell you it ain't. Not even close.
