Hancock rocks!
Indeed!
But this could have been easily an Icon meet Glory movie
Too bad the comic industries do not protect themselves against copyright infringement.
All you have to do is copy and change names
And the millions will be flowing in!
We live in a free rip off world
What can I say!

I think Jason Bateman was fantastic....i like the whole "Good job" exchange between him and will smith

I saw it last night and it was alright, but nothing special. 6/10 for me.

The movie was funny in the beginning and if it would have kept that tone throughout, it would have been rather enjoyable. When the movie started to get serious, I started getting less interested. I know the director wanted to make strong emotional bonds between characters, but I just didn't buy it. By the end of the movie I got kinda bored.

I really like the scale of this film, everything felt bigger than your average superhero movie but more realistic with the amount of damage done.

I liked Batemen in this film. Unfortunately, I didn't like anything else. I think I wanted to laugh more, and I really didn't like the whole Theron twist. I'm not even sure why that was there. I really enjoyed the beginning, but then everything else just dragged.

5/10

Theron explained why they were spending so much time with his publicist I guess. I could have done without the prison bit, it's just silly that they'd stick him in some regular jail. and though it got laughs, the head up the ass thing I could have done without seeing.

Regular jail? Where else would they put him?

I was also uncertain about the Theron twist but I thought they followed it up well. I thought the rest of the movie they would be hiding it from Ray which is kinda cliche but I like how everything was put out in the open fairly early

Yesterday it was gonna only make 60 mill, i wake up today and its up to 100 mill. What gives?

This was a huge success. I think this is his biggest opening ever.

66 million for the normal 3 day weekend...but 6 million from tuesday midnight screenings, 17m on wed. and 18 million on Thursday.

For as crappy as the movie was I didn't doubt that it would do well its first outing...but I don't think its going to hold up well in the coming weeks...but it'll probably break 200 and go higher just for the fact that its Big Willie.

At least if someone in porn does an adult version, there doesn't need to be a title change....

Saw this tonight I really liked it.

Call me *******/call me crazy one more jokes where great lol.

Will Smith was great in that role, the first half when he was bum/loser and when Ray (Jason) tried to make him say 'good job' and be nice kind of was great.

I really liked it, the twist with the wife (yeah you kind of knew it was coming) But was cool film, hope they do another and maybe explain more about the super heroes and how they came to be etc.

The vault? Or considering how powerful he is give him a case of jack and tell him to stay home. He's basically a celebrity so putting him in general population with people he caught seemed like a bad idea.

About that wife thing I was relieved there was a story behind him making googlie eyes at someone else's wife.

Im so glad this movie is doing well! Most of the complaints are just plain hating. Much respect to Will Smith for doing something different with a familiar genre. I enjoyed the movie and happy for its success. This is like the Transformers of 2008.

My thoughts exactly. I really wish they had kept the tone of the first half of the movie throughout the film...would've made it much better.

Overall, the first disappointment of my summer.

I do wish that Smith had used an established superhero. Every superhero movie that comes out risks the oversaturation of the market. therefore, as a fan of the genre, Id like for them to in some way honor or help the medium that birthed it. This could have completely revitalized a Milestone character.

This didnt affect my view of the movie or anything...just a side note

Went back and saw this again this afternoon, and still absolutely loved it.

The showing I went to was completely PACKED which surprised me for a Sunday afternoon. Very good crowd this time, and they clapped their little heads off after it was all over. Judging by the buzz and people talking about it after leaving, the general public is LOVING this movie.

Great job Will, Jason, and Charlize! Can't wait for this one on DVD!

he went to jail on his own...so it doesn't really matter whether the prison could really hold him or not. that was the point. that's the reason why he flew out to get the basketball, looked around, and then flew back in. it's was a PR stunt, not really as a punishment.

kinda like the super max story...interesting. is there someone you have in mind that the story (or something similar) could work for.

I think he means Milestone as in the old kick ass 90's DC imprint and not meaning an iconic comic character and he is right. With some tweaking this could've easily been Icon: The Motion Picture.

I didn't like the second half of the film . That ridiculous origin story was unecessary and the subplot with the wife was ackward.
