Frankly i could live with Hancock being a oneoff really. I don't know where they could or need to take the story next.

I'm glad they changed it.The title sounded too much like an adult movie.:hehe:

Thanks for posting these ant.I'm not too impressed by the covers themselves though.

As others have said it does spoil the true nature of Charlize's character which they tried to avoid in the theatrical promotion. So much for that.:o

You're so right. If you haven't seen the movie, you can pretty much figure out from the cover that Charlize is somehow involved with him, or a superhero herself. Just keep him alone on the cover.

Did you see what I meant about the two titles Retro?? How either one could go with either movie?? Or is that just me?:o

Is it just me, or does this film seem to be a poor man's version of comic book films?

Yeah Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, X-Men, X2) vs. the dude who made "The Kingdom"

I wonder who's better?

Well after reading dark b's review it sounds like the original title would be more fitting for the unrated version.:hehe:

The movie's box office so far....

Domestic: $227,381,199 40.6%
+ Foreign: $332,246,982 59.4%

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

= Worldwide: $559,628,181

UPDATE
The box office now stands at at a whopping $614,631,359! Thanks in a large part to the money it's made in Italy and Japan where it's made over 14 million and 24 million respectively.

Exactly, Singer is leaps and bounds ahead of Berg at this point.

No surprise its made that much really, hopefully this means they will be doing a sequel. Hancock is more sequel worthy than I Am Legend at least.

You mean prequel.:cwink:

I can live with Hancock being a one off film (as it was intended) and not the start of yet another franchise. But i do understand when the studio sees those kind of figures there's a big chance they'll push for a sequel.

when i saw the new scene this is the first thing i was thinking :hehe:

there is still one scene missing.
in the trailer it is. he has a t-shirt and short pants. he is sitting on a scyscraper with a red sign. i think this is the scene after he jumps out of the hospital. or no whait a minute. i think he is sitting on the skyscraper before he goes buying alcohol. he is depressed after what happened with mary. so he wants to again drink. then he goes buying it.

i guess after some years they will realese a new extended version.

Just saw the DVD commercial, they gave Charlize second billing on the cover.

Over here the dvd has been available at rental stores for the past 2 weeks. It's not the unrated cut and in fact i'm not even sure if that version is going on sale cause on the regular dvd format. As far as i can see it'll only available on Blu-Ray.:down

In the past month Hancock has added an extra 10 million to it's worldwide box office take....

Domestic: $227,946,274 36.5%
+ Foreign: $396,186,659 63.5%

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It indeed doesnt seem like we will be getting the extended, which again is a joke, we always get fobbed off with the poor deal over here.

Jesus this movie sucked some major donkey balls.

I liked Hancock, and I personally can't wait for the sequel. I think it was a good movie with a touching story and would love to see how that plays out in future movies or even if they find a way for him to be with his wife again. There are so many things you can do with Hancock and a whole world you can open up and explore. Plus I think it is great to finally have another good clack Superhero on the big screen and I say another because even though it was some what campy Meteor Man was still a good more just could have used more depth in story.

Couldnt agree more, I love this film and so does my girlfriend who I normally have to drag into superhero movies. I want there to be a sequel perhaps someone else from his race is still alive and becomes his enemy.

Agreed so much can be done because remember the person they are made for is their weakness but who is to say that others are not and can hurt them.

That sucks for you guys. Over here in the states they are releasing the Two Disc unrated version for DVD and Blu Ray.

So is the movie worth renting? I've heard the first act is great, but the second act is terrible.

The second act isn't terrible, but it's not as good as the first half of the movie, but it still gets the job done and establishes some history about the main character.

I'm more interested in sequel potential.

Agreed it did a good job setting up for a sequel and I would love to see where they go from there and how and what kind of villains they could bring in.
