Not house wife. HOMEMAKER. Housewives hire nannies and maids and gardners and spend money on make-up, clothes, and plastic surgery to make themselves look the best possible, homemakers actually do house-keeping and baby sitting by themselves, and usually end up in more casual clothes. There's absolutely no homemakers anywhere near me and Im willing to bet all up the eastern coast of USA AT LEAST that looks better than Charlize Theron in Hancock. The only thing she really does is pull her hair back and dress more casually.

Well okay, was just saying I think she didnt look her best in this movie.

I liked HANCOCK better in the first half over the 2nd half. The shift in tone in the 2nd half was a bit jarring.

I admit I nearly fell over laughing at the prison scene where Hancock actually followed through on his "head up the ass" threat.

I really hate this movie. I rented it on Blu-Ray like a month ago. The whole movie is less than mediocre, and that thing he does to the moon at the end with absolutely no explanation is the icing on the ****cake. I seriously get pissed off when I watch this.

I finally saw this movie. I thought the first half was brilliant but it completely falls apart when they half heartedly tried to explain Hancock's origin. It was like the film was trying to look left and look right at the same time.

Likewise. I just recently caught it after having no interest on the theater release. The movie fell apart for me when they got rid of Hancock's ******* factor. The connection between he and Mary certainly sparks some curiosity about their creation, but it's a real reach from the tone they had set up (even considering this is about a guy with superhuman abilities). It feels like an entirely different movie afterward.

The end resolution was predictable, but the imagery conjured in the hospital scene was pretty good. Nice scoring there.

it didnt folow the superhero formula. you know the one that fans always complain about?

maybe they didnt do the best job but respect fro trying something new.

Exactly, it tried something different, something non-cliche and thats what I liked about it, and why i'd like to know more in a sequel.

All I'm going to say on this film is.............When you figure out the twist by just watching trailers and interviews before the film has even been released, it's BAD!!!!

agree.

it was a test to have will smiths comedy and then some drama. you can not have the drama in the beginning. at the beginning he is an ass. then comes the character development. you can nto have a movie about hancock where he doesnt change. a superhero movie realesed in america wouldnt survive this IMO.
at the same time when the drama and danger started the comedy of course wouldnt fit in.

Agreed. Kudos for the filmmakers non-cliche approach although it was executed somewhat awkwardly.

I love when movies try something different but you just summed up why some people (including myself) dislike Hancock. Once the movie tried to be more than a fun popcorn flick, it became awkward, sloppy, and didn't answer enough questions to be a satisfying experience.

agree.

Agreed with both of you, his origin certainly wasnt cliche in the normal super-hero manner, and it was great to see them take it in a different direction. The mythology definately has me interested.

A short clip from a scene that (as far as i know) hasn't appeared in either the theatrical or unrated edition.

Looks very similar to what he's wearing in these concept and matte paintings.Could thise be a flashback of some sort?

The video wouldnt play but I have seen that concept art before and it looks an intriguing scene.

yeah after Kick Ass i realized that Hancock should be R.

cursing and super violence from a supe hero with superman powers with comedy from Pince bel air.
i would sacrifice the budget and rather have a low budget Hancock move with cheap flying scenes only for the R rating. when you have a character like Hancock you just need the R rating.

Hey this movie still sucks!

It was good for it's first half, then as mentioned the switch in tone and him becoming all goodey goodey sucked.

He should have stayed a d*ck.

Bringing up an old movie but I just rewatched this on TV. I guess including my theater viewing Ive seen it like 3 times now. The first hour is great (seriously I did the time) but like everyone says it falls apart after the big reveal.
Not just the tone shift, but it misses the big thing is that there is no good villain. I actually dont mind that he didnt stay a jerk the whole movie. If they at least had a good villain it wouldve been so much better.
Its still a decent movie to me

I wish the sequel would come out because it could fix alot of the problems.
