This will be all water under the bridge.
Seriously, Zach gallifinakis is awesome and I hope he doesn't saturate himself too much. But I think comedic actors tend to have a harder time to get accepted by fandom than dramatic actors like Tom Hardy or Michael Fassbender due to the genre clashes.
Word is that Robert Downey Jr. is not too happy about Mel Gibson being axed from The Hangover 2, or that his Due Date co-star Zach Galifinakis is involved.
Downey says it was Mel who helped cast him in Singing Detectives, his first movie after jail, even though an insurance company wouldn't cover it. He thinks Mel deserves a second chance too. They also have the same rep, and it was Downey who lobbied to get Mel in The Hangover 2 with director Todd Phillips.
But the cast was not happy with the idea and Zach was at the forefront of that resistance.
Word is Downey has been "pissy" with Zach during promotion for Due Date.
http://www.vanityfair.com/online/da...-to-the-questions-that-plague-the-nation.htmlThey say there’s been tension between the two in the weeks since Liam Neeson replaced Gibson in the role.
But instead of red carpet chilliness, Cinema Society guests were treated to an outpouring of love that was nearly as uncomfortable. In fact, Phillips, Downey, and Galifianakis affectionately joked around in front of TV cameras for so long that they needed to be ushered into the theater. Downey looked on with delight at Galifianakis’s antics, which included sitting down on the floor mid-sentence and ousting a cameraman to take over filming duties. Does that mean all is well in Frat-Pack land? Perhaps, but, again, they’re actors. And there’s nothing like a little shtick to get people’s focus back on the movies.
I just have a feeling this one is going to jump the shark.
Typical case of Hollywood casting a far too attractive lady for an unattractive man in comedy films.
