Harley Quinn costume idea!

I had a thought about the head gear, I think the simplest way of doing it would be pig tales, but have them accessorized with long black and red ribbons (in place of bunchies) and bizarrely i keep imagining there being little (Christmas) bells on the end of them.

I wish that there was a good way to attach that sort of thing at the end of a pigtail, because that would be cute. Hair is just too finicky to do it without being pretty complicated.

I ordered a fleece hat version of harley's hood on ebay for 10bucks plus shipping. I like it for the more modern day HQ.

Me too. The dreadlocks are awful. Not to mention the generic plaid skirt.

glad you agree, thats why Im against any kind of "Goth" Harley, Ive seen it done and it just does not fit into the character for me.

I just found that while looking for costume ideas.. it was supposedly the Harley Quinn in The Dark Knight; obviously it wasn't because she wasn't in the movie.. but I like the idea.

See now that could work for me, its badass, sexy, evil and still has alot of the elements of Harley without changing to much, and this could fit into reality too!

It was a dress that was belted at the waist (and the belt buckle was a diamond), with the red and black color scheme of the original outfit with red tights on leg and black on the other. Also, with a garter/gun holster type thing (it would be holding a "BANG" novelty gun) and black boots. Some fingerless gloves, too.. It looks better in my head than I can make it sound..

Ya I know how that is, thats why my TDK Joker outfit isnt nearly as accurate as I would like it to be, I just dont have the funds.

Me and a friend were tossing round ideas for a realistic Harley. I liked the idea of retaining a lab coat and she liked the idea of using heels so we boiled it down to a costume that we thought fitted well in Nolan's universe.

I wanted to keep a circus/clown feel so I went for marching pants and a waistcoat.

The second one is a tad more realistic with matching halfs.

The third one is full blown Harley with matching coat.

Personally I prefer the first one.

I would also have to agree, this isn't a Harley I would like to see in the films... I don't think it would be considered anyway. To me it doesn't really say "Harley Quinn" in any sort of way. Sure you have the painted on diamonds, you have black and red... but like, anyone can wear an outfit of red and black... alright, well you get what I mean anyway.
I don't like all of the accessories, and i'm not fond of the makeup or the hair. I still think the converse are an interesting idea, but I too am more into boots. When thinking about her outfit, I also think about what she could actually function in though. Having worn many different types of boots, they look great but you can't kick ass in them too well. haha.
So my definitive choice for footwear would be some sort of high laced army boots, or something similar, big black steel toed doc martins -perhaps with red laces, perhaps one black and one red... or something of the sort. I'm still developing my costume to include all of the new ideas I come up with and potentially some of the good points made here

I'm starting in on my costume now.. I bought a cheap dress from wal mart and I'm going to cut a few things here and there, then dye it, and when I'm finished I'll post pictures .. but I'm an awful procrastinator so it might be a while, ha.

I really don't understand how a top hat is in any way related to Harley. In my mind, the only DC lady who can wear one is Zatanna.
