Hello. I have been reading everyone's post and seeing their beautiful Harley Quinn costume ideas. I am so inspired to do one myself. I have always loved Harley Quinn, and I want to pretty much be her.
I'm a guy. I am 20 years old. I am gay, and I want to make a Harley Quinn costume for myself. ^^
I have some ideas, but I have no reference pictures so hopefully I can explain myself pretty well. >.<
For the hair - I have brown hair, and it's rather curly. It sucks pretty much when you want to crossplay as Harley Quinn. I did find a picture online where this girl was a brunette with shoulder length hair, and she put it in very tiny pig tails. It was so cute, I really want that for my hair. I do want blonde hair - not just for Harley but for everyday use...but It's difficult to do that with my hair. :/
Top - I was thinking of a white dress shirt for girls. Button up. With short puffy sleeves. A red ribbon bow in the front.
Let me explain my vision of Harley Quinn. I see innocence when I see her. A girl who knows what she is doing and knows how to get it. Her mind is whacky, crazy, comical and I think that is one reason why she dresses herself in the Harlequin jumpsuit. She thinks it's funny, and childish. I don't see Harley wearing a lot of the punky things that a lot of cosplayers go for instantly. She is a little daft in the brain, but...that doesn't mean she has to dress like a slob. She is professional, and I want to show that.
I know what most of you are thinking - no red and black. Well...this is where that comes in, and I think it is shown in a respectful yet youthful way.
Bottom - Black skinny jeans, with a red sock/stocking on one leg. Symbolic Harley diamonds are cut out on the red sock/stocking, so the black from the jeans comes through - representing the traditional black diamond on red leg.
I really hope this makes sense.
I do actually enjoy converse, and I think she might wear them. They are comfortable, and easy to find. She does seem to like shopping in the comic/The Animated Series, so maybe a lot more classier of a shoe. I would feel more comfortable wearing "connies" personally.
Thank you for letting me post in here, and I hope my opinions are seen as a possibility?
