Harpers Island

This guy plays Wakefield

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0719678/

I remember him in Tin Man on Sci-Fi...and the eppy he was in on Smallville, which was directed by it's star Tom Welling. He should be pretty good at playing Wakefield. Not a big time actor, but he is always in ****.

People are really that surprised? Really?

Wakefield had to be alive. I realized that episodes ago. I mean the sheriff always avoided answering the question of Wakefield's death in a clear manner. He had pictures of Wakefield alive. He found his DNA somewhere and it was a match. They weren't really subtle about it anyway. People always said, they thought they saw Wakefield on the island. This is far from a cop-out. They hinted at Wakefield's return from day one. Plus Wakefield is one of the killers. Not the only one. It's not like the mystery is over.

Some of you must have seen Callum in Due South right?

That's where I know him from at least.

Very disappointed, if not surprised, that Wakefield is alive. It negates any clues you may have gotten up until now. It could literally be anyone, on the sole premise that, if they had an alibi for a particular murder, then Wakefield did it. It allows the writers to say it's whoever with no real explanation. Pretty cheap writing.

That said, a blind folded chimp could tell you that Jimmy is the killer right now. Way too obvious. If it turns out he is the accomplice, this show will have a very unsatisfactory ending. I'm betting on Sully now for no real educated reason.

They shoud have made these last two episodes into a 2hour finale..

Agreed.

I always speculated it was Wakefield and an accomplise in the group, because the show is so obvious. JD was a redherring and they would spend at least 5 minutes of every episode of someone saying "It's Wakefield," and then another character going "He's dead." And they would even dig him up and then they rule him out even though the sheriff has tons of photos of him and the two-face guy is chasing him and has his diary.

The question has being who is working with Wakfield and why. I since the first episode suspected Henry, but now I realize that is unlikely. Jimmy has a motive. He wants Abbey back and for her to rely on him. What if Jimmy is Wakfield's kid and he is just trying to seduce the daughter of his enemy similar to the plot of Scream. Fake death included. Just my theory.

Tonight's episode was ****ing amazing. Wakefield is just so damn vicious. Now we know that there was an accomplice and

The show is doing too much to point the finger at Jimmy. Especially Shea finding his picture in the sheriff's attic, and the fact that he was suspected of being Wakefield's accomplice in the original murders... and the I'm-a-kill-you look he gives Trish at the end of the episode... Too obvious. I think it's not him.

Call me crazy but I think it's Henry. Could he be Wakefield's son? Also Wakefield didn't do ****all to kill Trish in the bathroom, and I wonder why he looked at her that way. Maybe something to do with how she seemingly recognized him, in the attic last episode.

Anyway, kickass show. Can't wait to see the damn finale.

I spoiled myself by reading it....but tomorrow's eppy does sound good.

Well, even though Shane looked like Wakefield a bit in the face, it isn't him. He maned up and got the otehrs out of there before trying to kill Wakefield by himself. That ***** Trish had a shotgun...and did ****. He had a tiny knife...in any point, Shane gets some thumbs up for going down with a fight, then coming back from the dead and getting his attention when it looked like Trish was dead...who again, had a ****ing shotgun!

Looks like some of us were right with it being Jimmy...could still be Henry though. One heck of a eppy tonight. 2 hour series finale 2 weeks from tonight

Alot of people died in this ep.

And did anyone feel the song at end didn't fit. I mean it never did that until now.

It sucks we have to wait two weeks now. but atleast its 2 hours.

The song fit...imo...it was touching. But yeah, first time sad music has been played during/before a kill.

I don't think it's a actual two hour finale. I think it's eppys 12 and 13 aired back to back. Which is the same thing really...

Yeah, it was a nice emotional touch to it.

I'm sure its just two eps back to back.

And everyone on tha Island has bad shooting, except for Wakefield of course.

Did anyone else notice Wakefield wiped off his knife with his fingers? (a la 'Scream')

I thought that may be one of the best episodes it had other than

Trish had a ****ING SHOTGUN AND DID JACK**** WITH IT!

Ugh, that was stupid. Seeing Wakfield just go all crazy at the beginning and kill that blonde girl and then Shane in the first 5-10 minutes was shocking. Shane went down with a great fight though and maybe if he had run and taken the gun from Trish he could have handled it all by himself.

Surprisingly Cal and Chloey had the most touching deaths in the series. It was genuinely sad and moving when he died in front of her and she pulled a Last of the Mohicans right afterwards while Henry and Abbey watched after stupidly leaving the Brit alone to find what was obviously BAIT.

And I think we all knew it was Jimmy

So despite some characters acting rather stupid, this episode had such a great ending and build-up to it, I can overlook it and say it was a great episode.

Yeah, I took notice to that aswell.

If anyone knows the song they played. Could you please post who it was and what the song was called then.

It may not be Jimmy like I said...could be Henry...why? Well, it's a slim chance....but...

Ok, Shea finds the mug shot of him and other ****. Seattle PD I think was on his mug shot/paperwork. Since the Sheriff had all of this...he probably conforted him about it? Or maybe he didn't. Then again, he knew Jimmy was alive right before he died...so who knows. I know I was like 'Oh it's Jimmy' weeks ago, but what if he tells Abby 'Uh, yea, I got arrested in Seattle and was under suspencion of being in co-hots with Wakefield. Then Henry fires at him and reveals it's him, not Jimmy? Long shot, I know.

Agreed. Trish is a moron, but being as this is essentially a horror movie, you need to have someone acting stupid. Right?

Cal and Chloe's deathes were the saddest of the series. I was beginning to suspect that Chloe may be the unknowing Wakefield child (thus her imprisonment instead of death) but it doesn't seem to be the case. But yeah, their deathes were incredibly sad.

Anyhow, thoughts on next week. The accomplice is likely going to be Henry or Jimmy. Which one is hard to say. Why would the Sheriff give his own life to save Jimmy, though if he suspected him for a second of being tied to Wakefield? Because Wakefield is alive, it can really be anyone. Alibis play no role.

I'm going to make a bold prediction. J.D.. What if he were somehow alive? We never saw him get stabbed. We simply saw him covered in blood and Cal pronounced him dead. In And Then There Were None/Ten Little Indians, the loose inspiration for this show, the judge convinced the doctor to help him stage his own death to "smoke out the killer," when the judge was in fact the killer. Perhaps J.D. went to Cal with a similiar plan? Cal is trusting enough to do something of the sort. Why would the killer go through so much effort to trap Cal of all people? Because Cal knows his accomplice is really alive, maybe?

Also. We saw in the preview that Wakefield seems to take Trish and later she appears to be in her wedding dress. Did Wakefield put her in the dress? If so, why? Is it possible that this is not above Abby at all but is about Trish? Maybe she is really the Wakefield daughter and her mother had an affair as well?

Interesting theories. I agree it is either Jimmy or Henry. Henry I guessed because he seemed so perfect since the first episode. But given that flashback of Jimmy "saving" Abbey 9 years ago and then last week when Wakefield left Jimmy alive (now twice) and he survived the explosion, it just seems to come together. But why give us the game at the end of last night's episode? Perhaps it is like True Blood and is really setting it up for next week to add intensity.

But...it could be another redherring like the sheriff and JD. But those two were obviously not the killer, I'm unsure with Jimmy. So, maybe it will be Henry after all.

JIMMY: I have something to confess.
ABBEY: You're the killer!
JIMMY: No, I'm not!
ABBEY: Yes, you are!
JIMMY: What do I have to do to proe to you that I'm not the killer.
<Gunshot, Jimmy falls down dying and bleeds to death in Abbey's arms. Henry walks up with the smoking gun.>
HENRY: How about that?

Which would explain why Henry basically let Wakfield get away at the beginning of last night's episode. And it may also explain why they kidnap Trish and put her in a wedding dress.

but...I read some speculate Trish may be the accomplise, hence the wedding dress and also why Wakefield didn't immediately kill her in the bathroom. But I don't buy that given her petite demeanor, how her father's death affected her and just how oblivious her character has been.

So, I'll stick with Jimmy as my first choice and Henry as my back-up call.

Here's another thought I'm having. Sully, perhaps? I know someone else suggested it. Maybe he is the Wakefield child (there's a bit of resemblence) and perhaps it can explain Trish in the wedding dress. Sully revealed to Henry that during their break he tried to sleep with Trish, maybe he loves her?

Eh, every week, the departing actors are interviewed about their character and the show, and The Sheriff just said something a bit too obvious, in his. Possible spoilers in there. Possibly!

http://www.hitfix.com/articles/2009-6-26-hitfix-interview-harper-s-island-s-deceased-sheriff-speaks

HitFix: And what have the reactions from friends and loved ones been?
JB: Oh, I get a lot of people screaming, "Nooooo!" And then there a lot of people saying, "Oh, I knew it wasn't you." Everybody's an expert at it. I think a lot of people were sorry to see me go, but I've been advising them, by all means, not to abandon the show, partly because don't believe everything you see. But partly because it's a great show and you should stick around for the wrap up.

HitFix: So should I ask you if I'm supposed to believe what I saw last week?
JB: Well, you can ask. Sometimes people go away. Sometimes people come back. Sometimes they don't. I hope that's suitably vague.

What do everyone thinks? Is he blowing smoke up our behinds or did he slip up? And on the other hand, the producer says a completely different thing on his Twitter. Both contradict each other. It's like they love toying with us.

I've lost interest since Wakefield surfaced. It's just like any other slasher movie
