Harpers Island

Missed the episode...really bad storms came through the area.

I say they bring it to another network. Apparently 8-9 million viewers a week is low for CBS but NBC or ABC would love it. Furthermore, there would be no issue with the rights as the story of Harper's Island is going to wrap up with the final episode. CBS doesn't own the right to all self-contained mystery mini-serieses.

Anyhow, good episode tonight. Looks like next week we finally get the plot device that keeps them all on the island. I called it about burn face, btw. Kinda saw the victim coming. That is one problem that I've had with the past 4 or so killings. The first few were so random. Now you can call the victim within the first ten minutes based on the story arc of the episode. I want another shocking death.

I'm glad that guy died, I've wanted him to die for awhile now

Agreed, I am glad he's gone especially before he got to hookup with that hot girl (which looked like it could happen).

Man was he annoying...she must have really been sad.

Not sure what to make of all the Sheriff business yet. Did he tell his the truth, the whole truth, etc.

And I really at this point have no clue who the killer could be...

I keep thinking something is off about Jimmy (Abby's ex boyfriend) But couldn't possibly understand his motivation as of yet. But he just seems to pop in from time to time and is to nice to be true.

I maintain it is Henry. The Sheriff thanked Henry, saying his wedding was the only thing that could bring Abby back to Harper's Island. The killings are clearly about Abby and The Sheriff. They are the ones the killer has been taunting. Isn't it convenient that Henry did exactly what the killer wanted in bringing Abby back?

Ok...this is who I think it might be now. Eppy was good btw.

Sherrif
JD
Burned face guy
Henry
Jimmy
Wakefield

Now I know it seems JD and Burned face man seem to be clear, but I dunno. They could be lying. And I agree with Matt...the more this goes on, the more I am suspecting Henry. It would suck imo if it's Henry or Jimmy, cause I like those characters, but it's starting to make sense Esp after in Jimmy's case, he scared off Wakefield from killing Abby. That could have been a set-up you know. Henry...he could have easily set-up the trap that killed the father...and where was he when the others died? Hmmm. I am thinking JD and Henry both snapped after their parents died.

Well...

Scarface and JD are dead. Looks like Henry killed JD, although in the previews he's still working with everyone else.

Or maybe he found him before as silly as that sounds. And maybe that was Henry running on the docks and not JD.

Could be....could be...

Still think if it's any of the characters we know of, it's Henry or Jimmy. If not, lame unseen copy cat killer we haven't seen, yet.

Maybe it is JD. This is based on 10 Little Indians/And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. In the book, doesn't the killer stage his death to throw the others off? Is that possible with JD?

I have said all along that the groom is the killer. (Or one of the killers.) That's who I'm stickin with!

I think it's Abby's ex...either way, this show is almost borderline unwatchable. You'd think these people would learn to not walk around alone by now...

Imagine if it were both the Groom and Bride.

...now that would be interesting!

It's really no different than a horror movie. (Someone always runs through the woods or away from the killer and trips and falls. Someone always runs upstairs when they should have run out the front door. :oldrazz:)

Harper's Island is definitely cliched...but it's fun to watch.

Agreed. Especially since it sort of plays the cliches as one of its strengths and uses them to create a sense of tension.

I know, I know, but a horror movie is one night, like an hour and half roughly, so you don't notice it as much. Every week they'll wander off or do something stupid, so it's more annoying. I guess for something like this you need to check your brain at the door. I only watch it now to know who the killer is, nothing much else entertains me.

I remember screaming at Neve Campbell in the Scream movies "buy a f--king gun!"

Is there an episode tonight ? I ask because there is no Canadian HD rip online from Thursday's episode if there was one like there usually is

There was a new ep tonight. And two more people died.

********, it was one. If not, then my memory sucks hard.

Looks like it's the Sheriff that is the killer. I kinda doubt this...still think it's Jimmy or Henry, although the preview for next week suggest otherwise

Damn, it was two. **** my memory...

Weren't the two deaths,

Beth and the step-mom?

Very good ep tonight.

You know, I thought that too. But then, that would be too easy, woudn't it?

I think the Sherriff is a red herring, but he knows more than he's letting on

Current thoughts:

Definitely not the sheriff. He knows something, but he is not the killer. We know that Madison is a liar. She has lied for her father in the past. There is a chance the killer ordered her to point the finger at the Sheriff. I think he is going to die next week. The scene where he is screaming for Abby to stay away from him, he probably is booby trapped or something.

At this point I am having a hard time seeing how it can be Henry or Jimmy. Both have air tight alibis. If it is one of the main characters, they have an accomplice. Possibly the bar tender who is Abby's old friend. Perhaps she is the Wakefield child?

I'm starting to lean towards Jimmy. Based on next week's preview Jimmy gets blown up at a distance from everyone else. This is loosely based on Agatha Christie's 'And Then There Were None.' Following that formula, the killer will stage his own death. Perhaps the explosion is Jimmy doing something similiar. Faking his death. Jimmy and Abby have not slept together. There were two times they almost did but haven't. Why do I mention this? I am starting to believe Jimmy is the Wakefield child, and Abby's sibling. He is the only main character aside from Abby who hasn't been used as a red herring. Right now, Jimmy is my bet.

Also, I'm starting to suspect the accomplice is British doctor. We don't know how long his girl was out for. He could've snuck out and killed Beth. He seems too nice to be real.
