Harry,

You spent the last year bashing X3 up and down your site relentlessly. Everything was bad no matter what it was. Even the coffee mug was evil in your eyes I imagine. However, ever since the full trailer came out you haven't said a word. You haven't talked about the full trailer that debuted on 24 and that appeared on the net later that night, and you haven't mentioned the TV spots, or anything. I find it hard to believe that you didn't see these, and I also find it hard to believe you weren't surprised and how good the full trailer was. It'd be a good idea to swallow your pride and admit that it looks better than you thought or at least comment on it.

If you don't that's kind of weak considering all the bashing and hatred early on. It's better to man up and admit you just might be wrong about this film. Not every comic book film is going to meet your fanboy expectations. They just can't.

Here's his response:

Actually - I don't have access to a tv right now as I haven't turned on my cable at the new house - so for the last 4 weeks, there's been zero broadcast or cable television... and I haven't seen them pop up online.

The full trailer was better, but I still hate the way all the "evil mutants" look - save for the ones we know from the previous films. I think Juggernaut looks terrible. Most of the framing looks uninspired and the sets seem bland.

Right now though - I'm just waiting for the first reviews of the film to come in. We'll know soon enough.

Well I must agree with the sentiment that the scenery is bland, but it was bland in the last two films so that's not really surprising.

I don't know why you bother, Advanced Dark...

I seem to recall you mentioning Harry before. Most of us aren't interested. He's just one person with a bitter agenda. Why do you keep empowering him and validating his thoughts by responding and posting it here? I'd rather not know what he thinks.

Liberty Island, Underground Base, Alcatraz...

You expected bright colors?

Maybe when they go to Mojoworld in X32...

I know you didn't expect Harry to actually recant anything. Even if only ONE critic rips this movie he will say his comments were justified and sight that one critic as the evidence.

Well I am interested. Not every post is meant to interest everyone. I thought Harry led a very big smear campaign since Ratner was hired and publicly abused everything X3 to the extreme. Finally when the real product comes onto the net and the full trailer is released...nothing. And now he has to wait for the reviews before he can comment? I don't know but at least he e-mailed me back and was cool about it. I know I'm not the only one who was curious if he'd back pedal on his comments prior to the full trailer.

Not going to say what I think about the guy. HOWEVER, I will say that his bashing the film doesn't seem to matter as much as I thought it did seeing as how it's getting ALL KINDS of hype. I guess people are NOT putting as much into his words as we thought. I'm not. Though he may have read the rough script he knows nothing of the film.

if you guys recall, when BB was in production, he was saying that it will be a crapshoot, he retracted his comments, and he loved the film

Why is Harry knowles such a big deal anyway?

A lot of his so called 'news' is often fake.

Well, quite obviously he likes what he has seen and is possibly aware of Brett and the screenwriters questioning his stance.

I can't believe a moviegeek like him would be without television for four weeks, since he spends his life stuck in front of a screen. He'll never admit he likes what he has seen. But he couldn't think of much to say about why he didn't like it... which speaks volumes.

The site must pay well if he has a new house...

at least he isnt being BLATANTLY judgemental now.

lol:D

^ He is a big deal as far as his "reach" and "presence" on the web. His smear campaigns have actually stopped movies in pre-production from being made according to "Deconstructing Harry Knowles". He doesn't look like much but his voice carry's weight on the net to the followers he has and he does cause waves. His stories and rumors have lead Studio Execs to make press releases including Avi Arad. So not only as a fan but as a MVL shareholder it pissed me off to no end to watch him totally smear this film and Brett Ratner without giving it a chance. He's kind of backed off it quite a bit maybe at the persuasion of Avi Arad, Rothman, or their lawyers. I am happy he e-mailed me back and that he seems to have calmed down a bit.

He's also a movie producer now Electrix.;)

Oh very nice...I wonder if he'll give bad reviews to his own work...

:D

I was actually curious if he was gonna say 'no, it still looks like crap' and just make that stand. lol
As for the framing, ect, I went and put on X1 and X2 then watched the trailers (fpr X3) again, and there's nothing to suggest Singer didn't do the film, other than us knowing he wasn't responsible for it (say one thing about Ratner is he can mimic style). At most it looks like a far more vast film. And as for the 'evil' mutants, it's nothing sort of unexpected, as typically, Singer showed previous ones wearing street clothes (Sabretooth and Toad) or black leather (Deathstrike), and surprise, what are the new ones wearing?
it's consistancy.

I say he's full of ****. He has no access to a tv? what the hell? and why does he have to wait for a review. is the review going to tell him what he should think? Look at his response..................Most of the framing looks uninspired and the sets seem bland...............what the hell...so that's all you got out of all the stills and video that's been released.

Really? I didn't know that.

So, what movies is he producing?

AICN has really gone down hill lately, no news no nothing

^ That's a cop out IMO. I know exactly what he's gonna say when X3 comes out.

I'm not asking him to review the film. We're talking the trailer here. LOL Oh well. I got my response out of him which I never expected. I figured he'd just post something on his site...which he still hasn't done. Therefore this thread is here which is even better.

Erm...so he has no tv.....can't he see any footage on the internet like many of us had to?
