Harry is a good person however fatally flawed and misguided, he may acknowledge the fact his father was an evil person but hell never quite come to grips with the deception and betrayal he felt from Peter.
He chooses not to follow the same path as his father and doesn't become a true villain in that sense, however he seeks to avenge what he feels is the only thing left in life there's worth everything to him, revenge.
In the end as in the comics but under very different circumstances he finally makes the unselfish decision and put aside his anger and help the only person in his world left that he considers family being Peter.
Harrys act of sacrifice is the truest sense of heroism and brings him back to the good person he was if only at the very end.
It's pretty tragic stuff.
