I completely agree, TT. If they don't leverage the whole mind-f**k potential of Petey seeing the Green Goblin coming after him even though he already killed him once I will be really disappointed.

I believe they did it to distinguish him from norman. After all, he doesn't want to be connected with all the murders his dad did. I believe I read in a script review (may not be true) that he comes to term with his inner demons, an din the final battle, he goes full goblin gear, which sounds like it will actually happen. I like the glider and the suit, the only thing I hate is that paintball mask thing.

Harry idolized his father and wanted to live up to his father's expectations. That's true of the comic character and they've shown it in the films as well. There'd be no reason for Harry to 'distance' himself from his father... his father was a "great man" according to Harry.

Further, with Harry's hatred of Spider-Man (now Pete) for killing Norman. Harry would have every reason to want to screw with Peter making him think that Norman had come back for revenge. It's a great part of the story.

I'm holding out hope that they're saving the full return of the GG costume, mask and glider for later in the movie and not showing it in the teaser/trailer. If Raimi missed this part of the story arc, I'll really be disappointed in him.

I would prefer the more traditional GG style glider. It could be a slightly different model but the same basic device and structure. There's something about the Rocket-Racer-esk flying skate board that is just not right. The glider though is cool beans city, AND its one of the things that they got nearly spot on right in the first film.

I've always hoped they would justify his hallucination in 2 as being the result of having already been treated with the Goblin formula right between Harry telling Norman Pete loves MJ and Peter scene with May. I thought it would be nice if he broke the mirror in 2 because he subconciously knew the Goblin Lair was back there.
And if he dosed himself again in 3, it could justify his mutating into an Ultimatish Goblin monster.

^Yeah,I thought people working on the movie come here all the time,so why not use my avatar for the Goblin look.Even if they didn't use the mask because Raimi wants Harry's face to be seen,it still would of looked awesome,a million times better than the snowboarding/paintball mask rocket racer.
